Hi,
I was working on my AST yesterday and I came up with something:
/ac play <t>
/assist <t>
/assist <t>
/micon play
With this macro I got a good way to use play to throw the card on whatever member of my team and then the macro will switch target to anyone he is targeting (whatever mob or boss) and then change the targeting again to whoever the mob is targeting (the tank, if he's got aggro). The chang occurs instantly and you get to keep healing...
In my tests I saw it not happen once or twice, maybe if you have a high ping it might have some issues. Usually I wouldn't recomend this kind of macro on high end content, since you can't queue Play, but there's a video going on the forums of a Noct Astro solo healing high end content, and he uses macro targeting all the DPS...
Also I have another macro /ac Gravity <tt> and it works best for me. Again I don't recomend to macro spammable actions because of queueing problems, but it work for me...
If someone can test and add some feedback I'd appreciate.

Soft targeting works for playing cards, which means you will automatically go back to who/whatever you were targeting before, without a macro.
I personally use <tt> macros for DPS spells and that's it, so I only ever have to target party members, mainly the tank. -

I also play on PS4 and what I have done is similar to what Heilstos did as far as a macro. I just assigned it to my hot bar as apposed to a hot key and added a partysort line in case my party became unsorted for some reason. That said there are 2 other things I did to make this work for me. I sorted my party list as DPS - Healer - Tank. This way my Dps were in slots 2-5/6. Additionally I sorted my DPS list so that ranged would be towards the bottom and Melee towards the top. By doing this, if I need to get to the MT quickly, I utilize the "Assist" button that I assigned to my L3 button or press up 2/3 times on the D-pad. If I'm in 4 man the 2-3 will let me select the proper part member without having to adjust my macros and they work as normal in 8 man content.

when I dont have a card drawn it draws a card, when I do have a card drawn it gives that card buff to whoever I mouseover on the party list. -

You can do you but I prefer to work smarter, not harder. I'm not clipping anything, I'm able to play my cards on the correct target in the 1s space between GCDs (not 1.5) and I'm able to save the periods that you mentioned for other oGCDs that may be needed.

Been using the macro/party sidebar system that @Heilstos shared and I am finding that using cards especially after using Sleeve Draw has become easier. I do still have some issues like having to time my clicks on the macro right when it can actually be used since macros can't be queued. I also need change how my party is sorted so dps are all groups together rather then being scattered. Overall still a shame I have to use a macro so make things easier on myself but the improvement is still appreciated.

For personal preference, I use the Healer 1 macro icon for <1> (yourself). If you use the normal party list setup of tanks → healers → DPS: set <2> to Tank 1, <3> to Tank 2, <4> to Healer 2, and <5-8> to DPS 1-4, respectively. In 8-man trials and raids, the icons will be accurate to each party member. In 4-man dungeons, Tank 1 and Healer 1 will remain accurate, while Tank 2 is your first DPS (ideally a melee) and Healer 2 is your second DPS (ideally ranged/caster). For alliance raids, everything is accurate except for Tank 2 (which becomes the other healer) and Healer 2 (which is the first DPS).
For efficiency/comfort, be sure that all 8 of your party member targeting buttons are on the same trigger you hold down as the Play macro. That way, you don't have to swap which trigger you're holding to choose your target after hitting Play.
For fun, you can even set a macro to target your Chocobo companion using <c>.
The guide mentions only using non-shared hotbars for storage, but I'm 99.9% sure you can store your swapping bars in shared hotbar slots as long as you specify where you're copying from/to (because that's that I do). This means you can store your hotbars used from swapping on AST itself (as long as you have at least two hotbars designated as shared). For example, if you designate cross hotbar 3 as shared, you can useand it will copy to the hidden AST hotbar while the shared (visible) hotbar will be unaffected. You can also copy from the same hidden hotbar withCode:/chotbar copy ast 1 ast 3
I believe this works because the shared hotbars are just another regular set of 8 hotbars. You can even copy to and from them using "share" as the name. For example,Code:/chotbar copy ast 3 ast 1

This is what i use, i only keep 3 and 4 on my main set of keys because in dungeons thats usually all you need. Usually its ok to just have 5-8 in trials and 8 person content, it makes cards less cumbersome
