Haven't cleared Orbonne since ShB

I used to run it all the time before ShB, but now I can't get a clear in. 3~4 people quit immediately upon entry, and the team wipes on mustadio or agrias. We don't even make it to orlandeau sometimes!! More people quit as we progress (or wipe), and then eventually vote abandon. Today I learned Agrias has a dps check. I've never even seen it before in my dozens of runs during SB.

I really want some glams (only dropped by orlandeau or ultima) so I keep trying to go back in, but I haven't had a single clear party since ShB launch. I know I'm speaking anecdotally but most Orbonne runs must be abandoned or something, I have to wonder what the clear rate is and how Square intends to address this issue.

I got it a couple times since ShB and they went surprisingly well. Though I have seen a lot of people leaving or voting to abandon prior to it. People would rather lower their ilevels to get into ARR raids to avoid having to think while playing. They don't want to pay attention, they want to get carried. And if people can't carry them perfectly, they want to ruin it for everyone. Sorry you're having trouble.

This will get a little better in 5.1. When the new raid hits, some more experienced level 80s will occasionally que alliance roulette hoping to get Yorha 1 with their daily raid bonus, and however many of those people dont immediately nope out on seeing Orbonne will be capable of clearing it no problem. I que alliance 3-5 times a week because i like the big runs(and i still need glamours cards songs or minis from several of them), and every time LotA or Syrcus pop i feel depressed. Void Ark is just as brain-dead easy, but at least its different and i can use most of my toolkit. WoD is still stuck in boring level 50, but at least the run has some actual mechanics to do. Mhach, Dun, Ridoranna, Orbonne... i love these places and miss seeing them.

All the people exploiting the roulette to only get Labyrinth is a factor in this as well. Hopefully they'll fix that in 5.1.

I'm not sure there really is a way to fix it. They can't let undergeared characters enter higher level raids, so I'm not really sure what the solution would be

An imperfect solution would be to have tiered ilevel requirements based on level. For example at level 50, 60, 70, and 80. It's imperfect since people could switch to an alt job to bypass it, but this way at least it would make it so if you want to run it on your level 80 main for the end game tomestones you wouldn't be able to cheese the ilevel.

Unfortunately strategy for old content in XIV since 3.x has been "faceroll it until it dies."

I personally wouldn't want to see that status quo changed. Maybe if we put harder raids like these in a different roulette going forward (expert alliance or something) with an option to help new players for bonus exp, at least the vets who show up know what they're getting into.

I'm in a similar position, wanting glamours from that place. I'm also quite tired of seeing crystal tower pop up, but for simply levelling, having the easiest option makes sense.

It would be great if they split up the Raid Roulette into different tiers like they do for the dungeon roulettes, because I would definitely be up for doing the tougher raids. I think more people would do it that way!

People just complain about expert roulette dungeons being too hard too, so I doubt people would even bother queuing up for that. Putting harder ones in their own roulette only makes it easier for lazy whiners to not have to do it.

Exactly. So the 'lazy' people looking to faceroll old/easier content wouldn't be in the raid. Everyone there would know it's harder and likely has new people in it.

I'd totally be down for expansion tiered roulettes for raids. At least people queued for it would be inclined to actually try.

I've also met people who've only unlocked LotA and ST simply to have the roulette available. Having different tiers would give incentive to get, and do, the different 24-man raids.

Maybe add option in roulette raids that lets you pick. The higher the raid ilvl is the better reward bonus you get at the end. Maybe then get more for them. Last time ran alliance raid roulette I got Orbonne and we kept wiping think at first boss. Never did finish it.

That would end up causing the opposite problem where people would only queue for the most recent raids, making it hard for newer players to run old raids

Nobody would run it unless you added some serious rewards for it. Then everyone would run it and you're back to square one.

So as so done who just returned last weekend, sounds like I may never get to clear this raid. Shame. I like the challenge until it becomes easy. To this day, one of my fav 24 man fights is ozma.
