Been searching around, haven't played in a couple days cause I just blew all my anima doing quests for my chocobo so thought I'd take a break to build some back up. Was curious what the maximum amount of rested exp we can get. Or does no one really know yet? The patch notes didn't seem to say.
Does anyone know what the rested XP maximum limit is?

It's a good question. A dev response about the detailed specifics of the rested exp mechanics would be awesome.
(How much rested exp can you accumulate, how long does it take, what's the rate of rested exp/hour, is it a flat rate, etc) -

This would be good information to have. It's kind of hard to tell, as the rested highlight can go off the current level and turn red, so the only way to know for sure is to burn all of it off but even doing that doesn't mean you were capped.
They need to add some sort of notification box/text while you are sitting in the inn, the % rested you are from the cap of when resting stops accumulating. That would be nice. -

Well from my experience it seems to accumulate at 1k/hour (1k grind, not 1k extra so about 350~ exp/hour)

I was in the Inn for about 3 days, during this I got up to about 40k Rested.
I PL myself and usually get about 1k EXP without rested, with it I was hitting 1.3k so it only seemed like roughly 30% boost. (That doesn't include link/chain boost))
Also I think the way rested is used up is broken, they said it doesnt count towards the EXP you get from levequest rewards but everytime I finish a Levequest and have a little bit of rested, its always removed, which makes no sense at all if its not supposed to be used up. -

I'm thinking the bar ticks up about 1 exp per 1 game minute tick... bar-wise anyway. I guess it's technically half that since only half that bar is actually extra exp. Either way, my original thought was it was 1 exp per second but after a night in the inn I found I had about half what I expected so 1 exp per game minute tick on the clock seems more accurate. I can't say I've noticed a cap but I know I've gotten a full bar as a 40 cul which was 70k+ tnl. I'd guess if there is a cap it's probably 50k bonus or 100k bonus, but I would half hope it wasn't that low.

Being offline for 18 hours extends my rested bar about 1/3 of the way whether I'm parked as level 39, level 32, or level 30. Seems like it hours away pretty fast. Need to keep eye on it about leves.

Since Guardian's Aspect would regenerate at a rate of 20 per real life day (I think?), and the cap was 200, I'm gonna say that the rested XP cap is 10 days worth of resting.
Just my guess, based on the old system.
A better question - when is the first "tick" of rested XP accumulated? I'm guessing 1 hour in the room at minimum, perhaps half hour though. Alternatively, it could be connected to the in-game days. -

Logically, it should be comparable to the overall penalty we originally got out of fatigue, but the other way around.
Basically, someone playing 10-15 hours a week would never hit fatigue, as the same person could very well be in permanent rested bonus if he/she rests at every log off.
Up to a point tho, exp gains would be cut by up to 50%, which correspond to currently playing without bonus. What was this exp threshold again? I'm not saying that the numbers should be the same, especially that the bonus is applicable to all classes whereas fatigue was class dependent, but my guess is that the balance should be somehow comparable. -

Its 50% Bonus: Leve w/Rest give 320 per node hit, when rest wears they give 210.
Its not a flat rate, its a percent. I had 50% of my bar filled at L49, so 50k, but when I swapped to my 39 job I also had 50% of the bar filled, or 35k. If it was flat rate then my L39 jobs bar should have been filled 75%, which is was not. This means it benifits higher level jobs more than lower level jobs.
I am not sure on accumulation rate but I assume its .5%-1% per hour, maybe 20% over 24 hours which would be the GA rate.
And leve rewards don't count towards it, they will "push" the bar. If your bar is red it may seem like it is, but your bar just gets pushed further in the next level. -

IIRC, after 12 hours of rested I earned a total of 9000 xp and leveled 3 1/2 times on pgl10(then 13 obviously) before the light dimmed. Ergo, 4hr:1000xp for me. I earned 6000 from grinding, and a free 3000 from rested.
When I had about 24 hours rested, I switch to 47MIN and needed 78k tnl max. I had about 13k already and the bar seemed to extend to 70k by eye gauging it. This would mean something approximately 65k would be earning rested at 50%, thus 30k-ish, give or take, would be rested.
Obviously that doesn't make too much sense. Something isn't done right, and I've been dying to know this since patch day. No one seems to know for certain. -
