New to the game and I like it a lot. But never have I seen so much nodding by characters. Many times in synchronicity. Can I get or give a thumbs up instead once in a while? :D

*stoic nod in agreement*
*stoic nod in agreement*
*stoic nod in agreement*
*stoic nod in agreement* Our neck muscles are even recognized and praise by a character we meet in the MSQ.
*stoic nod in agreement*
*communicates entirely through head movements*
It's very much a Japanese thing. Watch a live letter and notice whenever one person is speaking the others will just nod, specially once they finish talking.
*slightly tilt head to the right in confusion*
*punches palm while nodding in agreement*
*shrugs*
/10charlimit
*swishes tail and wiggles ear in joy and excitement*
*stoic nod*
As long as we don't use too expressive emotes too much. As a female Au Ra, some of the emotes are redonkulously cutesy, and can sometimes... lessen the gravity of a situation by quite a bit. The "leave it to me" and slow walk comes to mind immediately.
EDIT: as a sidenote, the "tilts head questioningly" can be utterly hilarious at times on many races due to the sheer wtf-ery on the WoL-s face.
*reluctantly nod*
*puts OP out of their misery with a thumps up*
*Flails hands in air trying to explain to OP we do it too much
*nods quiclky with a scared look on his face and squeaky shoes running on a basketball field sound effects*
Also you have good taste for liking Phantasy Star
*half-steps back in surprise*
*frowns and takes one step forward threateningly*
*Dramatic Shrug*
*Uses Hyper Beam*
"Hmm I think I preferred it when you were your silent brooding self" -Emet
What we need is more opportunities to disagree. Seems like we're always agreeing with what's said (even when we know we shouldn't) as if we can't think for ourselves. It's extremely rare for one of the NPC to say "let's do this" and the WoL gets to go "no, it needs to be done differently".
*clenches fist*
*covers eye*
*touches scar*
also I actually find NPCs making fun of our constant nodding pretty insulting, considering we have no say in acting that way 90% of the time.
"dude, look at us taking jabs at the characterisation you've been railroaded into, lmao"
*stoic nod in agreement*
*thousand-yalm stare*
*Sheepish smile* Uhhh Kupo!
((I cant be the only one that picked this option))
Outside of the Sims, no game really lets you do everything you want so the story can be written with a specific identity in mind. Everything outside of that is your call. Back when I tried miqo'te, I preferred to imagine when something's being explained, they were just singing nyannyannyannyan.
If anyone remembers the tin can armor, you didn't nod. You just stood there, staring at the silently. Same goes for the head tilt.
Though I make up for my lack of animated responses by doing absurd dances in scripted combat transitions. Like during Mustiadio, Eden, Titania, etc.
*nods in agreement
*joy
*Clasps chin in one hand thoughtfully*
*Gives thumbs up, grinning while nodding head rapidly*
Considering the increase in dialogue choices we got in ShB, I'm hoping one of the Scions will eventually comment on how talkative we've become.
I mean, uh, *stoic nod in agreement*
*Female Miqo'te joy emote*
*grin and nod*
*snap back to blank stare*
