Just getting this started on the hopes that amaurot gets kicked out of Expert. God that dungeon might be one of if not the worst dungeon in the game.
Too many AoEs, Too many obnoxiously large enemies, too much time wasted dodging dumb aoes with stupid mechanics, dumb camera options on the final boss with annoying tells and hit boxes, an annoying first boss that's designed for longevity = difficulty mindset that wastes your time. I've healed it, and dps'd it. And every time it comes up, It just makes me miserable.
Sorry, venting over. Though if we can have a slightly similar discussion, anyone have any thoughts on what the new Hard mode dungeon will be lol

What do I think the next dungeon will be? I have no idea. It'll probably be a "The First" dungeon. Unless they decide "The Source" is important enough this expansion to get dungeons. /shrug

I don’t see us getting a Source dungeon due to the trust system, and the Scions are still stuck on the First. Maybe after we’ve discovered a way to bring them back will we get a dungeon on the Source.

I'm assuming most of the new MSQ dungeons will be on the First but the last one will likely be on the Source and tie into the next expansion somehow. I'm curious as to where they'll be since I haven't seen too many landmarks and locales that stand out as future dungeon material.
We're also likely to get "hard" versions of some of the Stormblood dungeons if they choose to follow tradition (I'm hoping for Bardam's Mettle as one of them). -

Amaurot is my favourite dungeon of this expansion and probably one of my favourites of all time.
The thread title is pretty severely misleading. Also why do people who have something to complain about post on forums as if it makes a difference?
No matter how many people you speak to individually, you will never have a large enough sample size to know the actual statistics. For all you know, you are in the minority in not liking this dungeon. Only SE has the actual metrics. -

Visually and thematically, Amarout (And even better Gimlyt Dark) are the better, if not the best dungeons.
Mechanically and design wise... They are just that. Dungeons. Nothing to see here.
How could would be that Amarout was a full race against the falling city, with jumping and hooks involed maybe? use the damn duty and active time things already? -

It was neat the first time. It quickly became old for me. It's also just... Off. Here's this apocalypse and swarms of beasts that people many times more powerful than us are completely helpless against and we just take them down easily while being heavily outnumbered. Even a boss is basically an add fest. I love the creativity that went into it. It could've done so much better though.

This mean in theory there exist no problem of retroactively adding the Trust System for ARR, HW and SB, the only limitation is, that by doing this, can be used also only NPCs that existed up at that timeline.
Yda for example can be used for ARR and HW, but not anymore for SB.
Same with Papalymo, only useable until a certain point.
But that is the price for good storytelling, you have to live also with the negative sides of it, when a game like FF14 should be kept authentic, while updating old systems to the latest optimal status quo of the current expansion so, that the games does look again complete and coherent in it's gameplay design in a synchronized way, how MMORPGs should get handled, instead of ignoring that, only because of it meaning effort, but effort thats worth it of doing it, to receive a much greater playing experience of FF14, when you can see, that the same gameplay elements are used from the begin to it's end of the game, instead of having an UI and mechanic mess from game to expansion to expansion, if nothing gets kept in line with the older game content.
When you upgrade your PC with newer parts, then you also want to make sure, that all parts are and stay compatible to each other, or not??
The same analogy is it with updating old game content, to make sure it stays compatible with the newest content of the game and looks synchronized. -
