Now that the combo system has been implemented, will we be seeing the return of battle regime before 2.0? If so, in which patch? How will it work with combos?

They've gone the way of the Dodo... oh wait a minute !
Keep waiting . . .
This game is becoming more fast paced/casual to attract more players. Remember how long you would have to wait and organize a regimen? Old school era is done
With a coordinated group, the new age player likes to solo, and blaze through. SE if trying to make money they are going to make it easy on a solo person thats why they wont readd regimens. PUGs would have a hard time organizing it. Make things easier attract the common day player.

I'm pretty sure they said they were removing it only for the time to implement the combo system when it was taken down?
I really hope it does come back. A skill chain / regime system would be the cherry on top with combos.
Then again, fights would need to last more than 4 attacks.
There's no reason they can't adjust them/re-create the system to work with a faster paced game. That's clearly what they're currently doing anyway, as they themselves stated.
Also that's one of the reasons I don't bother with PUGs, they're mostly awful and rarely have any idea what they're doing.
Battle regimen most likely will be back as skillchains, imagine comboing and skillchaining at the same time
I thought battle regimen was fun as hell.
Battle Reg was fun, but they are also catering to the casual player which is a HUGE market.
If they put regimens in with combos then they have to make mobs have more hp/stronger which will screw the casual solo.
If they put regimens in and take out combos casuals kill rate goes down along with solo ability,.
You gotta think money for the company.
I myself prefer the long battles hard mobs and group play, but in the current age, with families, work etc not alot of people are hardcore. And on top of that any new kids or younger crowd are used to playing console games were everything is fast and they can do everythign they want in short amount of time.
Its not like back in the day when MMOs first came out like EQ, there wasnt any consoles games online the only games were on the computer and that crowd was not big in comparison of the current age. The games back then have wait few hardcore players want now, harsher death penalty, longer fights, group play. They were true MMOs where you had to work with people. Now you can play solo and max out in a few months time in pretty much any game.
My guess is that the old system is gone forever, to be replaced by a new system that is going to be easier to understand but require more skill to pull off. I think I remember an interview with Yoshida (maybe back in October/November?) where he mentioned the possibility of different group members stringing combos together in a certain order, with a big finishing move at the end. I'm too lazy to go looking for that now, though, and it's been a while anyway, so who knows what's really coming.
Here:
enjoy
Let them work with care, we have plenty of months until 2.0, but i would love to see the system a few months before 2.0 release so we can give them some good points about the system and be tweaked before the 2nd release
I rather see skillchains like in XI or something to that kind of chaining
BR just seemed really slow. I didnt like it at all
Let's do something better than XI, screw being only as good.
The "casuals" argument is kind of flimsy as that one system of the game, being completely optional, wouldn't turn casual players away. Something like Battle Regimen is made specifically for well organized groups of players who know what they're doing. Maybe if everyone actually learns to use this new system, there won't really be a problem.
