Square, could you please add a more visible visual effect for Divine Veil?

This has always kind of bothered me, so I figured it'd be good to make a post about it in order to raise awareness. As you all probably know, Divine Veil is one of PLD's party mitigation skills. The way that it works is when the PLD initially casts the skill on himself/herself, it's in a sort of "idle" mode, waiting to be actually activated. This animation in particular is fine and clearly visible.

However, for Divine Veil to actually take effect and apply its shield to all nearby party members, the PLD neds to receive a heal while Divine Veil is in this idle mode. When this happens and the PLD's party members receive the shield, it is almost impossible to notice visually. The only graphic that Divine Veil's activation applies to party members is the basic, very faint, clear aura and light sparkle that I believe every buff in the game applies to players on top of said buff's unique graphic. This being said, it could be argued that Divine Veil's activation doesn't even have any visual effect.

Now, of course this isn't some sort of glaring issue or game-breaking by any means. But, it just gets kind of annoying not knowing my party has received my shield from Divine Veil unless I look at the individual buffs next to their names. I'm not even too concerned about what the effect looks like honestly, I'd just like to have something. Especially when the other Tanks have very visible graphics for their party mitigation skills (especially Dark Knight, all of Eorzea knows when they cast Dark Missionary XD).

I think its a good idea to make it more noticeable for healers. BUT that being said, DV is one of the few abilities (actually the only ability) I have macro'd with a message (I'll emphasize, a short TWO WORD statement) and sound effect.

As a PLD if you absolutely need to make sure divine veil is popped, you do have Clemency you can cast on yourself.

Just cast Clemency on yourself.

Well, you are misunderstanding my post.
I'm referring to the shields that come from Divine Veil itself not having a noticeable visual effect, not the idle Divine Veil that requires a heal to be activated (although that'd be nice too). In the heat of battle, the only way I can really know if my Divine Veil was given to a party member is if I look at the buffs/debuffs next to their name in the Party List....I'd just like the game to display something a bit more visible when I'm healed and my Divine Veil is applied to others (for example, maybe each party member that receives Divine Veil could have the white shield effect from the removed skill Anticipation be displayed on them).

Can the activation of Divine Veil just give the shield instantly? It's actually incredibly annoying to deal with Diving Veil because you need to pop it much earlier than every other tank aoe mitigation and it requires a unnecessary heal to proc. I don't even mind the shield not applying to the PLD but seriously just let the skill instantly grant the party a shield.

This was what Clemency was made for after the adjustments in 3.3 I believe, but even still I agree it isn’t as visible. Having 30s to pop Divine Veil is good and all, but about half the time Healers I run into don’t even think about tossing me one even when I use my Macro to sound off when it goes up.

Also blame mobile for not editing.

I think to make it more visible it should give the PLD an Aura similar to DRK(not red stink lines, just something that stands out like light) to show DV is ready to be popped by a Heal.

The only issue would be from SE's side, is do you make something like that visible for people who have party effects reduced/turned off? I personally use reduced effects from other party members because I like being able to see what I'm hitting.

It’d be in Reduced Effects so Healers know.

Just make it apply on use already (and apply to the PLD) ... when Divine Veil was the only Tank shield it made some sense for it to be 'special', but now that the other Tanks all have an instant shield / party mitigation the heal requirement is simply antiquated and clunky.

Either that or have the heal apply part of its potency to the shield, so at least there would be a reason for the heal requirement (though that may be verging on spread crit-lo territory)

They could allow oGCD heals proc veil also, but in some niche situations as is currently is, you can pop veil 30seconds in advance and have it proc'd just before it wears off, and allow a second veil 60 seconds later. This doesn't always go to plan, either recieve a gcd heal before it's intended, or embrace, or is just simply missed.
Personally though I rather it be press, everyone has a shield and be done instead of being convoluted compared to current tank AoE mitigation.
