If Trust had Personal Limit Break...

So if Trust Companions have their own personal Limit Break that does not use up the Party Limit Break what do you think it may be?

Thancred is a bit obvious being Lionheart. :p

Alisaie already effectively has one, given the speed that she uses the party one as soon as it fills up. :rolleyes:

I always figured that was her gimmick, to use the LB on bosses. And to scrape Alphinaud off the ground when his AI inevitably breaks during Storge and he dies twice...
Do any of the other NPCs actually use the LB, at all? I'm in the last stretch of getting all of them to cap and the only times I see the LB used is when I do it myself or when I bring Alisaie and she does it.

I've seen both Yshtola and Ryne use the limit breaks... yshtola waits a bit and ryne is almost as bad as Alisaie

God Alisaie is bad so bad I've fought over her with it and still lost on using it as a melee dps. .

That is Y'shtola's Scion Job (the name of the Job that is given to her in other FF games) Limit Break which was first introduced in Final Fantasy Mobius and Scion Job was her special custom version of White Mage Job being her Healer Job.

Y'shtola has changed her Job in 5.0 into Sorceress Job now which is focused more on being a Customizaed Black Mage with Offensive White Magic thus a Magic DPS Job.

She is basically the only one with a LB :p

Just a quick bit for people who want one NPC to limit break but not another, from what I've seen/tested while running these as my PLD whichever DPS is in the first (top) slot will be the one to LB. So if you want Ryne to use the single target melee LB you need to unselect both DPS and pick Ryne first, then who ever you want as second DPS. Ryne should use the LB in that run now.

Most likely not. I've only ran one as my DRG and they did not LB at all.

Alisaie WILL use the LB regardless of your class. I've gone in with both melee & magic DPS and she LB's the instant we're in a boss fight.

I personally have only ever seen Ryne use a LB when I've been playing on my tank. I have seen Y'shatola use the LB when I was on a mage dps, but it was a fair way through the fight... so seemed she waited to see if I'd use it before using it herself.

So it would seem that they have programmed the Trust's use of LB to be different for each NPC, as well as potentially what role the player is, and finally what their order is in the party selection. At least based on what I've read here on these forums, as well as reddit, it seems this way.

Every Trust run I have done has been as a DPS, and all 3 of the DPS trusts use the LB. Alisaie is trigger happy and uses her LB in boss fights the moment it is available or as soon as she can if she's in the middle of one of her scripted actions like moving to deal with a stack marker, etc. It's kind of annoying, since I never get to use it myself with her around even if I try. Y'Shtola is very reluctant to use the LB and will take a long time to get around to using it, but I've seen her do it on occasion when I forget to. Ryne uses hers more readily than Y'Shtola, but isn't trigger happy with it like Alisaie.

Interesting, and good to know. Took Ryne on the one run I did do as a DPS and she must have been feeling lazy that day cause she didn't LB the whole run. Haven't tried again as anything other than PLD since, so my knowledge is limited to tanking only, more or less. ^^;

Not true with Alisaie and I've run trusts as dancer, rdm and nin, that little hot head will cast as soon as its available. Ryne will too if you even try to save it for a second.

Edit: didnt realize others had said the same but I think we are all of the Same general consensus that Alisaie needs to calm her happy ass down a bit with the lb rofl

And to make matters worse is that's the ONLY time she will aoe and it's on a single target boss :mad:

When I ran Holminster's as Red Mage, Lyna used the LB quite often. I was pleasantly surprised. Less so when I play as melee and Alisaie will, 9 times out of 10, steal it from me for an AOE LB. Why Alisaie? Why are you like this?

Also, I've seen Alisaie drop two or three times while Alphinaud seems to do fine.
