Quick Synthesis Failure Rate

Just wanted to see what ppl think about the current failure rate with Shadowbringers.
I just finished melding my crafting gear with both Cr and Co sitting around 2200. So I decided to quick synth some of the mats I had stockpiled. I had noticed as I was levelling up that the quick synth failure rate was higher than in SB but that may be purely subjective. I started with trying to make some Dwarven cotton thread and the first 3 failed and out of 20 9 failed in total. Now that's a lot of mats to lose to failures.

What are ppls experiences and does it need to be tweaked?

It's pretty close to the same as it was in SB. Using the best gear from pre-expansion, doing new recipes at or below level, the success rate is around 80-85%.

I say this as someone who popped squadron and commercial/revised scrolls and quick synthed several stacks of mats to level up for both expansions.

Interesting - I'm not seeing anything anywhere near 80%. I'm getting overall about 35-40% failure rate, mind you I'm not using food but not sure if that makes a difference anyway.

I did some with and without food (the free NQ stuff from the Crystal Mean quests) and didn't see any real difference. The failure rate is high enough that you will occasionally see several failures in a short span. If you do 99 at a time and walk away while it happens, you'll probably have a different perception of your success rate.

i did a lot a quick synth with very good stuff (2150 craftsmanship, 2200 control, 520 CP unbuffed) and it seem that the failure rate is a bit higher than in Stormblood 4.0.
I did not notice any real difference between my yellow scripts gear and my good gear, and 85% success seems about right (after maybe 2000 quicksynth).
It has always been a mystery to me about what attributes contribute to decreasing failure.

With my craftsmanship stats (around 2350) I have found quick synth to be 100% up to about level 74 recipes. I did stacks of deepgold and stonegold nuggets without any failures, but things like Dwarven Cotton and Tuff Whetstones had about an 80-85% success rate.

Stormblood quick synth success rate depended on your total CP. I don't know at the begennnig of the expansion but halfway through Sb expansion I know for sure, I could take the ilvl 290 (basic lvl 70 crafting set) NQ left side and HQ right side+belt and meld it all with +4 CP material and I would have 100% quick synth success rate through over 10,000 items quick synth, didn't see a single failure for non-star items. ShB quick synth with relatively same items I'm seeing 40% failure rate using grade 6 CP materia (+8 CP). So either SE really upped the amount of CP you need to not fail or they changed it from being CP to something else. Also Spiritbonding rate for lvl 80 crafting gear crafting lvl 78+ items with spiritbonding scroll+potion requires a LOT more items to complete spiritbonding where as before with lvl 70 (ilvl 290) gear with lvl 68+ items took me about 150 items to complete spiritbonding.

They increased the success rate in the middle of Stormblood, patch 4.3 notes:

Here is awesome crafting guide for anyone who needs one. The 40 dur and 80 dur rotations are great, the 80 dur especially for leves long as you meet or exceed the stats you will hit HQ roughly 99% of the time. Busted out 10 HQ bluespirited sycthes using the 80 dur macro tonight while leveling BSM. Note you dont need to be bang on with the cp requirements just be within about 10pts-20pts of what it asks for..

I was never a fan of QS failure rates. I get a small chance of failure, but Don't agree with the 15-20% concept. Seems silly in a game where we can macro complex skill runs for guaranteed HQ items, but we can't just make a group of items (usually materials for said HQ items) with a failure rate we wouldn't see with macros.

I understand it's a "penalty" for being able to click a button and walk away, but IMO it's too severe of one for what you are getting. I click a button and walk away from my 20 sequence HQ macros, why can't I click one button and get 100% success for 20 nuggets (which by nature of logic are easier to craft then a complex weapon)?

Seems to be about the same as always. Recipes near my level have ... ~20% failure rate? (a guess based on memory)

Lower level items 0% failure and may even get HQ some items.
