I have M house and dont have any complain toward the current housing system,
But i hear complain a lot... so...
I just suddenly think about this, that maybe adding a montly fee(in gil ofc, prefarably not that much 100k for S 200k for M 300k for L per month? Idk) would make the housing better?
Again its just a random idea xd

Yeah the reason is to increase the empty plot,
The price is kinda random for now, but any higher price would make a newbie unable to buy and maintain the house...
Actually i dont think the price matter that much whats important is that the you have to pay mentality. -

Sorry horrible idea. I and my firends worked hard to get our shirogane house. I booked the day of work to log in on rush to buy it after spending weeks mapping out best route to get it. And worked hours into decorating it. I pay my sub too...why should i have to pay more tax to keep it.
If they really want to sort out housing shortages they need to make it that alts get automatic access and shared access as your main. buy back from people who had multiple from pre restrictions and more wards. / instance options. -

It doesn't make much sense to tax people with houses. Houses themselves should just cost more money. If supply is low and demand is high the prices should go up until demand tails off. Flat pricing is one of the main issues that caused the shortage.

Taxing won't really resolve anything, especially at the rates you propose. Those who own a house are already way more likely to be wealthy. A couple hundred K is nothing to me when I can make 3 mil or more with a day's worth of crafting.

Taxes will hurt the little players who aren't really swimming in the riches much much more than it will the people you're expecting it to put a control on. :) Can you imagine a player finally getting their house after months of placard clicking and then they lose it because they couldn't pay their tax/rent?
Multiplot owners can easily shoulder such taxes and there isn't a tax bracket based on your ff income so the tax would be flat across every player. -

1. we dont need taxes, I also do NOT agree with housing timer of demolition... IF one still subscribes that should automatically ensure possession of home. If one unsubs then maybe a timer ...but that timer should be very very long (a year at least) but even that i really dont agree with.
2. we need more housing!
SE add double, triple whatever it takes. and adjust your selling, transferring of ownership via FC leadership...etc rules to make certain players can only own one home ..countless ideas have been suggested to counter mass owning and "reselling"
3. instanced housing was always the best suggestion, right from the start. An empty neighbourhood is a waste of resources/space. Rift had far superior design with dimensions. -
