So, about ranjit... (slight spoilers)

I just reached that fight where ranjit fuses with his snake.

Got pretty excited as he seems to be a dark themed scythe-wielding class. I know enemies tend to have unique classes and jobs but still id love to get that expanded into a job (not the pet thingy though).

A scythe would be indeed pretty amazing - I loved playing Scythe Evie in Vindictus <3

Maybe he means a different type of dragon, LIke wyvern,wyrm,drake,etc...

Isnt Bahamut techincally a wyvern even though the call him a dreadwyrm?

I want a proper pet class, where I can fight alongside my pet, and at times fuse with it like Ranjit for boosted, powerful attacks and defense.

Dreadwyrm is a subset of wyrm. Think fire dragon, ice dragon, etc.

Bahamut's true epithet is The Dawn Wyrm. This is a contrast to his counterpart and consort brood-sister Tiamat, The Dusk Wyrm. Bahamut draws power from the Sun, hence his "flare" based skills (which draw ambient solar aether). Dreadwyrm is likely to be either 1) a name bestowed upon him by his foes at the time of the Allagan Empire, or 2) specifically refers to the primal Bahamut.

That said, Wyverns have 4 limbs: 2 hindlegs and 2 wings. Like a bird. A proper wyrm has 6 limbs: 2 hind legs, 2 forelegs and 2 wings, which Bahamut is.

This WOULD be kinda fun. Sort of like RDM except instead of swapping in and out of melee, swap between being a melee-lite job commanding your pet to do stuff, and fusing with your pet to unlock incredibly powerful magically infused melee attacks.

I thought the botanist wielded a scythe...

Also, Bahamut is the king of dragons, so... I think that means he is a dragon. ;P

I was personally hoping it was a sign at a possible morphing job in the future lol. Also Ran'jit is pretty cool with the whole dark and lightning sort of theme..

I'm pretty happy with all the jobs so far but I would really like a job that can morph/transform as a key part of their mechanics and theme~ Like Vincent, Dante (DMC/Devil Trigger), Yuri (Shadow Hearts), etc..

I wouldn't take it as a 'sign' of any job to come. Just a neat thing an npc does.

Yeah, the Admiral dual wields pistols but I'm not holding out any hope for some kind of pirate job to come out soon.

Wyverns are a specific body shape for dragons, with two legs and wings. (Like a bird or bat's body structure.)

Bahamut has separate forelegs, so he's not a wyvern.
