We have enough gear with capes, sashes, buttcapes, and the like already

After seeing the red mage side cape and hatching tide outfit physics, I'm feeling we might be getting something soon.

My high mythril cuirass or whatever its called has a cape.

I want a Cape! Even Dark Age of Camelot and City of Heroes had capes, so it can't be a system limitation. Let them take up a neck slot!

Any place to see what gear has capes? And I mean REAL ones, not the ones where it is glued to a part of your body so it doesn't flutter.

The only thing I don't like about the red mage side cape, is that they put it on the side where your arm clips through it the most T^T literally unusable, except for /gpose

When the Lightning's outfit came out, I was very disappointed that the Cape was tucked under the belt. Sure it might be more practical, but I'm playing an FF game, outfits aren't always practical!

Agreed. Too many MMOs use buttflaps so male players don't have to look at male behinds... don't need more of that...

Anyone who's seen 'The Incredibles' knows that capes are a very bad idea.

In other games i played that had capes, ive alway hide/turn them off, so if they did add them i hope we can do the same

The clipping with hair would be terrible, I can only support the idea if we get an option to hide the capes!...

Too many capes? Please, we have too many skirt robes or too many robes with appendages sticking out like half deformed tentacles.


And ya'll be saying too many capes? There's not enough in this game. I can count on probably one hand the amount of capes for tank gear, for example, vs skirt robes/chest pieces.

You can download DCUO if you like... Capes-galore in that game.

In fairness capes would not necessarily be a bad idea if 1) they could be hidden like headgear and 2) Replace the 2nd ring slot as as an accessory equipment (or take the belt slot with belts moving across to the right side). Would help to eliminate the issue with being unable to have 2 identical rings as well.

Capes will never be their own visible equipment slot, like in WoW, however their are a fair number of chest pieces that have full capes included. Especially for tanks. Some of them I can think of off hand are the Paladin Creed and Chivalrous job sets, the Diamond Fending and Striking sets, Ivalician Squire’s Fending Set and Maiming Set, the Undying Twilight Set and Pressing Darkness set.

There may be more and of course there's a whole additional list we could make of half capes or butt capes included in chest armor.

Ah so those are butt capes? I've been calling them half skirt robes. I guess if we label them as capes, then yeah, suddenly the cape amount is sizeable.

I'm still on the side that we are lacking a lot of shoulder to knee length capes though. Guess I should have been specific.

I wouldn't mind a cape if they made them work with tails.

I can see it now. We get capes then our legs clip the bottoms as we run then everyone complains about the clipping.

Why would they complain when it's already a thing without the capes? Wear a chestpiece gear that ends about ankle length and watch the legs of your chr clip it.

this, and not just tail, many of the clothes have this overly high collar that goes real bad if your char have long hair =(

i would be darn happy if they ever fix the hair&tail clipping problem

All of the ones I linked are full capes (though I guess an argument could be made against the Creed set being a full cape, because there are elements on top of it, but I think from the design its a single cloth that goes from shoulders down). You can look at them if you follow the links and see for yourself. I meant that if you include half capes like these(that mimic either the style of the top or bottom of a cape) the list could be longer.

Here's another few full capes as well. Here's some close to full capes too. I'm not saying the game couldn't benefit from a few more I suppose, but your original post made it seem like you thought they were non-existent.

Of course all the NICE ones are with melee DPS and tanks. Go figure ><

Is there anything like the chivalrous set for casters? And is there a shirtless cape in the game?

No thank you, I cant find a top without a side cape or something dress like. I want clean tops with good design not the ARR level 10 gear. If I see another full body cape with some weird popped collar I'm gonna have a mental breakdown. Why does everything have a collar? So my hair can clip and look all janky? Clean and tight designs please, less dress less bulk.

As long as you can hide them like we do with headgear. The clipping would be greater even than the 7th Umbral Calamity.
