So i was wondering, is there a diffrence between the npcs in the trust system, not counting their jobs. Like is one better than the other at their roles, like is Y'shtola better than Alisaie, or Alphinaud than Urianger? for example.

Take this with a grain of salt. But I've heard people say Ryne is the best at... "sustained" DPS. I've also heard people usually prefer Alphinaud to Urianger because of Alphianud's shields and a damage buff he can give you.
Probably unrelated in some way, but I've seen Alisae cast "Vercure III" when things got really dicey. Healed all of us fairly good.
I don't know about dps. Supposedly, Uriangr is a more reliable healer but I haven't had issues with either.
I've also seen Alisae cast Veraise when Urianger somehow kicked the bucket, so she definitely has the utility there. Didn't find Alphinaud to be a reliable healer honestly...
Alphinaud died on me at one point, and being a summoner I cast Resurrect but I don't think it worked - I'm sure I saw the animation go off but he didn't get the Raise status. Still, he revived not long after and I assumed he just respawned, but it must have been Alisaie, so possibly only other NPCs can raise NPCs.
Either that or it's actually a scripted thing for the healer to die and Alisaie to Verraise them occasionally, because you wouldn't want it to happen without her there. (Y'shtola could still cast Raise, I guess, but not sure Minfilia would have it.)
Hmm I've no idea, I've only see Alisae do it just the once so probably need to do some more testing but I definitely remember her having a voiceline for it, like "back on your feet" or something like that. If Y'shtola can Raise as well that's handy to know, might tank and drop some aoes on one of the healers and see what happens.
I don't believe Y'shtola can raise. I had a run during msq (so I dunno if it changes when you have to actually level them) where Urianger somehow died and we had to skirt the last 15% of the boss without him. She never got him up.
I've never once seen any of the trusts die. I also haven't noticed much of an issue no matter who I bring; it's still way slower than with other players no matter what.
I don't actually know if she can raise or not - just that with her previous conjurer training and the Scions' general "not quite standard job skillset" approach, it seems logical that she might be able to. Especially since it would be useful backup when it seems that the healer AI is not guaranteed to keep themself alive.
I've played with my trusts a lot, I have some to lvl 80.
Ryne just from the eye test is the best DPS. I think Urianger is more dedicated to healing. I did big pulls and Thancred never died with Urianger, but he did a few times with Alphinaud in fewer dungeon runs. The only one that I've seen raise someone during a fight is Urianger. All of them can raise someone after a fight is over, even the non-casters.
Last night I learned that if you're 2/3 done with the final boss in a trust run, and the server crashes, the NPCs get no exp. That really sucks.
Should mention, the first time I ran through each dungeon as a DRK, and with Trust npcs, so it's typically from that perspective unless otherwise noted. That said~
I've had Thancred die with Urianger healing, though that was only once. I was curious to see how much Thancred could handle in Dohn Mheg, and he ended up eating dirt. Tried rezing him (when going through again as RDM), it did nothing, then down I went. I haven't really had many issues with Trust npcs in general though, at least nothing resulting in a wipe. If I died, it was due to my own failure. Once, in the final MSQ dungeon, I managed to DERP off the tiny ledge you have to sit on to avoid the boss' gtfo beam, so there's that.
A few times Alisae and Alphinaud (ran them together fairly often) tanked the floor because... I don't know, honestly, but it was hilarious, and it was up to Ryne and I to finish the last bit of the boss' health. I've also seen Thancred rez Alisae/Alphinaud/Urianger with pheonix downs when they derped into things, and Alisae has rezed her brother.... when she isn't tanking the floor, that is. Alisae's AI tends to play very risky in general, which actually suits her character, but can make for pretty silly situations. I've actually enjoyed when such things happen, since it breaks up the monotony of running the same thing over and over to level them/get gear for glam/pets/etc.
Yuuuup.... had this happen before too. I really wish they gained throughout the dungeon, not just when it's complete. :/
I have heard Thancred does more damage when paired with Ryne.
But I haven't bothered to verify it myself, I got them both to 80 separately, oops.
Trusts don't get the raise status effect. They just get back up a few seconds after you cast it.
If your healer dies and Allisaie isn't there, someone will Phoenix Down after the current combat ends. If you are the healer, they'll wait around for you to cast raise. Interestingly, if you leave someone down and run ahead, their corpse will eventually teleport to you so you can raise them without running all the way back.Quote:

Just a word of warning for people planning to level the trusts and try to pull multiple groups of trash mobs. I didn't have trust NPCs die a lot but most of the time one did, it was because I did big pulls and multiple mobs used AOE attacks at the same time. Your NPCs will dodge the first one only, and will just stand there even if they're in a second AOE and sometimes a third AOE cast.
I am curious if other Trust have this team attack.
It would certain set higher priority to use the right Combo of trusts in the team if this is the case.
(PS they still need to find a method for giving Trust EXP outside of Trust Dungeons since as the game gets older with higher levels and more Trust are introduced, we need alternate methods to level the increasing numbers)
Or your trusts run out of one AoE right into another and die to it, or they kite their AoE right over to you when you've already established a position and have no time to swap places. Cursed art thee Urianger, thou hast killeth me once more for the lasteth of timeth! You call yourself an astrologian? If you knew anything about star formations then you'd understand a square has 4 sides and is not a flippin' triangle!
