some of them are tiny and kind of silly when you consider: they are made by big lionmen so it'd be kind of silly if the weapon they designed for and by themselves wouldn't be scaled appropriately to their size.

Tbh, Titania's is the only weapon that looks properly sized and made. It's lengthy, not too wide, has a well placed trigger(and just the fact it has one), a good hand guard, firm looking handle, and it leads to a good pointed edge. Everything else feels liek shrunken greatsword, mishapen paladin sword, or "throw in a pipe, some extendos and hell make it look like it's a flintlock pistol like garleans use". Some of the designs are just silly, its a tank wep, it doesn't have to be GIGANTIC, but prolly should be a big longer. I just know if I complain about this though, SE will make them x200 scale, larger than DRK weps lol.
I agree with you op just look at this

This is Final Fantasy XIV. Not VIII, not Dissidia. Size is absolutely fine. This is swift and not heavy weapon here.
But i have to admit that bigger races like roegadyn could get slightly bigger gunblades.
Use the Dwarven Mythril Manatrigger if you want an oversized weapon.
You know, I can't help but feel if they swapped the drk, sam and gnb stances (drk gets gnb, gnb gets sam and sam gets drk), this wouldn't be so jarring. That kind of stance is usually reserved for people who are carrying heavier weapons.
I would like to see the size we see in the CG art rather than the toy weapons we currently have ingame

Oh boy, I could say something about phallic envy but I won't... ;)
Seriously though, I think the problem here is the weapon doesn't scale properly depending on the character's race, as smaller races the gunblade looks much better compared to say, roegadyn, where it does look more like a pistol with a bayonet, rather than a greatsword with a gun-shaped rumble pack for a hilt. A slight size increase wouldn't be a bad thing, but I doubt SE would really bother with enlarging existing gunblades frankly, they'd be more likely to just make future gunblades larger. So, keep waiting I guess?
I like the fact that some gunblades are smaller than others. But i was surprised when i saw the squall's gunblade, it seems smaller than the original. I agree for a bigger size for some races tho.

I want a larger version for my Roegadyn D:

Yeah i agree even more now haha. Squall looks more slender than ff14 races, that's why it looked smaller (even with a miqote it looks that way). Making squall's gunblade bigger is not a bad idea, but not all gunblade need to be bigger or have the exact same size.
They look fine to me.
I'm still in stormblood so I dont know how the other ones look, but I really like the size and look of the doman steel gunblade my guy has
I hate big, chunky weapons.... so to me the Gunblades are a nice departure from how every other tanking job tends to get weapons too large to be used by literally anyone. I prefer them to stay the size they are.
The gunblade indeed need a size increase. It doesnt need to be DRK size, but it needs a increase.
The FFXIV oficial art work aswell as the CGs have the gunblade larger than the ingame models.
Also the gunblade came from ffVIII if im not mistaken, they are big there (not Buster Sword big), and for players familiar with the weapon, it looks weird to carry a weapon the size of a short 1 handed sword.
I dnt know why SE decided to go with such a small gunblade ingame, when the art and CGs sugests they are bigger.
I will agree that Squall's gunblade in FF14 needs to be the same size as it appears in Dissidia NT.
They could chance the weapon name to Gunknife and it would all make sense haha.
But in a serious part, it's kinda of disapointing.
Can someone take a in-game ScreenShot of a Elezen GNB and compare with their model if it looks the same size?

They look like a Paladin without shield...
Gunblade are 1h weapons not 2h weapons like squall's
Yeah, let's give Paladin a one handed Buster Sword and expect everyone to be happy about it and say "Buster Sword is a 1h sword not 2h sword like cloud's"
If they have a replica of Squall gunblade then it better look 2h than 1h like lightning gunblade. And no, it's no 1h, some GNB actions uses 2h to perform visually.
a little bigger it wouldn't be bad, some of the weapons looks so tiny.
More problematic, imo, is the fact that the gunblade keeps changing size depending on position.
On my Highlander, it is substantially smaller while holstered, compared to absolutely acceptable size while drawn.
Would be nice to have it not shrink everytime I put the gunblade on my back...
Also, I have, via the market, tested this with various gunblades, and the problem applies to all of them.
You could make your character smaller, they look better on the small hyur class.
Well, that doesn't really change the problem that the gunblade changes its size when I draw it. I'm not even sure that its even affected by character size at all, but I'm not gonna buy various Fantasia just to test that...
Imho another problem with GNB glam is that until now all the fending armor do not fit the class image at all. We only got "normal" armor which are good and fine for more classic medieval inspired job like paladi ,warrior etc. but they are I'll fitted with a more....steampunk? Cyberpunk? Themed class.
We will see if the 24 man raid will offer some good looking armor for gnb
Eh I'm not fond of jobs using regular clothes. I use a glam based on the level 50 maelstrom armor

I just use The AF till I get that sick tome set
I hope we get more that are Nice blades like Fae,Lion heart and revolver
All the new gnb in 5.05 are a good size but the blades are awkward
Crafted one looks like a Alchemist tool
And tome one is decent not a huge fan of the jagged edges but it's not a deal breaker.
