Not real crazy about the look of the Dancer gear so far

Looks mostly like a gypsy. I guess that makes sense however.

It's one AF armor and the rest of the gear sets released from this point are gonna be shared sets.

First time I've heard of it reminding anyone of a gypsy. And even if that's so, what's wrong with that.

For me it is way too similar to the already-in-game thavnairian bustier set. I would rather have something more to the FFT dancer side or even different, just not something thavnairian aesthetic heavy because it's something we already have in game anyway.
The headgear ribbons are cute though.

The gear reminds me of what belly dancers (male and female) wear more than gypsies. Regardless, I really like the dancer set. It’s very ornamental and pretty.

Say what??? I love it..just wish it were dyable. :P

Its probably because I'm a male Lalafell. I suppose the gear would be more fitting for a female and a taller race.

I can get feeling that it's similar to the Thavnairian sets, but given where the job hails from lore wise it makes sense. Hopefully though in 6.0 they'll go with something a bit different but for now it fits.

Slightly tangential, since it seems the OP was referring strictly to the AF (not what I originally expected when I read the thread title).

I'm disappointed that they stuck DNC on aiming gear rather than scouting gear. Personally, I think the ninja aesthetic fits a dancer better than the shooty-scooty jobs. When I put on the Augmented Shire gear to level DNC for the first time, I threw up in my mouth a little.

I mean I get why, they want to keep the casters and ranged in their own sets etc, but similar to what you say here a lot of the aiming sets fit red mage better than caster robes.

I like the girl's outfit a lot, but the guy's outfit is a bit too...stark? It has the solid white, the solid black, the standard blue, the greens... The colours just down flow together at all, and some parts of the costume (like the shoulder pad people keep naming) don't fit with the rest of the outfit either. If they'd made the guy outfit "nicer" and more harmonious like the girl outfit in terms of texture/cut/colours, I wouldn't have minded it. I do think it looks best on very muscular avatars, though. orz

Can't wait for the dye version. Will wear it in pure white or black <3

Best AF I've ever had since heavensward weaver. Gonna be wearing it all expansion as glamour.
