Please give us an option to hide Warrior Beast Gauge Aura

While I agree that it is not as bad as the 3.0 Dark Knight Darkside Aura issue, i felt like the current situation with Warriors BG Aura is quite similar.

The aura during combat is fine really, but when you are outside of combat and talk to NPCs, your aura persists, due to BG not falling off after a time. I find that its an eyesore outside of combat.

Before 5.0, you were able to "turn off" your aura by simply turning off your stance, and then turning it on again, getting rid of your gauge. This of course is not possible today, you need to either move to a different area or change classes once to get rid of the effect.

This, imho, cannot be the solution, so I propose that a Warriors BG Aura disappears when using simple or no animation in your battle effects settings.

I feel your pain I really do but I bet we are the minority here, every other WAR out there want to display their epeen super saiyan aura all the time.

Untill the dev team deem it worth their time at all our ONLY solution is to change class/job to empty the gauge.

It annoys me enough that I switched jobs for Shadowbringers.

It was bad enough when I had to drop the gauge to get rid of it. Now this pet peeve of mine has been made even worse.

Having points in your beast gauge doesn't need to be indicated to other players, so it has no point outside being an annoying aesthetic. I'd be happy to do away with it entirely.

Id be ok with just the lightning effect. Actually i would PREFER to just have the lightning effect. I really, really dislike the wind animation. It looks like paper wrapped around my character.

I like the effect but not like having it on 'all' the time. I miss the day before all these gauge mechanic, back when the aura would fall off naturally out of battle. With all the complains about DRK aura in its early day I'm surprise that they ignored this with WAR this time around.

Yeah i remember... back then infuriate worked out of combat too. And defensive actions would give u stacks.

I wish infuriate worked out of combat again...

I came here to start a thread for this topic!

It's gotta stop. I've been a Warrior since ARR and I remember when the flames actually meant something. It was a visual indicator that you had enough Wrath stacks to use Inner Beast. It served a purpose.

When they added the Beast Gauge, it became super annoying because it was basically on all the time, but at least you had the option to get rid of it if you dropped your stance.

Now it's just on all the time with no way to turn it off and it needs to stop!

If SE really must keep it, then I propose the following: have it turn on only while the Nascent Chaos buff is up. That way it can go back to serving a purpose as a visual indication of something meaningful instead of just being on all the time.

On the contrary, they should make the fire effect look -not- flat. Upgrade the aura on Warrior, make it look good.

Yeah, like I said above. It literally looks like paper wrapped around my character. The thing is, they do have great fire effects which trigger when you go into tank stance (or dps stance back when we had it). It looks really good, and I bet if it they looped it it would like great. The only problem is that these effects are intense and could be distracting. Another option is to make the aura more intense the more rage we have. But I totally agree, the fire/wind effects look so flat. I really don't like it. And when you jump you can see how it's kinda cut off at the feet.

It's honestly not that intrusive but I can see how ppl can get annoyed by it. In 4.0 all we had to do was remove stance to get rid of it but now its not the case. I would however love to get the red aura that a certain NPC in the lvl 80 WAR job quest gets after they "awaken" as our aura.

I just noticed the Nascent Flash aura is a variant of the Warrior aura, and I like it much better. Perhaps they can make that our default aura?

Just open the systems menu section, where character configuration is, and click HUD layout. You can move and resize it from there.

You are confused. We are not talking about the gauge, we are talking about the visible display effect on the character model.

I completely agree and have posted this before. Either please give some options to hide it out of battle, limit its density, or my humble request, have an option to remove "Aura" effects completely from your visual.

Why? I would much rather see the weapons kills and abilities in fights versus a constant fire vortex or wind swirl on my character. I have seen people say "Its part of the job lore so it should not be removed." but that it's really valid as an argument since you can remove other effects and skills that you do not want to see and/or limit. People hated Gauss barrel enough and then they gave us that option? Now that's gone completely anyway.

Other things that would work: When you accumulate a point, stack, increase in duration, etc, have the effect flash or such. At end of combat, drop the effect also. The Warrior aura still present almost seems like its unintended since the previous mentioned methods of its removal don't work either even though they seemed like workarounds to begin with. And to be clear, I'm talking about all in general, like DRG's swirling blue dragons, MNK's wind effect (which I think looks absolutely the worst), WAR's beast aura, DRK's Darkside, BLM's Umbra (which is really pointless besides for a "cool" effect since the implementation of gauges), etc...

I think it would provide a much better visual experience in general, and really be a nice break in 8 and 8+ man plus battles too.

No. Under Character Config > Control Settings > Character tab, the options only limit weaponskills and abilitites, not the effects in question in this thread.

I would like to lose the aura without loosing other effects. Maybe a slash command that lets people hide it. Similar to the slash command for egi glamours.

It's not a cool animation though. Cool is inner release. Tank aura is pretty hideous. Like i said, the variant which happens during nascent flash is cool though. Wish we could have that instead.

i been sub to FFXIV for 2340 days, when ppl complain SE change, dont give SE credit on what they do, they will take the easy way out and take or tone things down for every job that might seem like an eye sore and then apply things back slow when plenty of ppl "B" about. i dont see how anything is a bother, when you can turn off so much, granted when i'm playing it's in a lit room and about several feet away from a 32" monitor.

Asking for an option to disable it is not asking for it to be removed. Not even asking for it to be disabled by default. Just an option somewhere. We can all be happy.

What I'm about to say is somewhat off-topic, but I'm genuinely surprised they didn't alter the WAR aura in any way whatsoever.

I remember back when HW launched and DRKs didn't have any black flames with their Darkside aura, we all asked what happened. The reasoning for the removal was that it looked sort of awkward during some animations, while mounted, etc. I can't help but feel that selfsame logic applies to the WAR aura now. Guess neither are gonna get fixed for a bit.
