I'm sure a good lot of you have played wow, right? Does the unnecessary amount of it take away from the realism? Not saying wow is based on realism, but by adding such a feature into a game such as ffxiv for example.. seems unnecessary, and extremely unrealistic. However, If you have played ff13, then you know the seamless jumping feature they have in that game, makes perfect since.
How many times have you been running through the wild and all of a sudden you come across a ledge that is like 2 feet off the ground, BUT YOU CAN NEVER JUST HOP OVER IT. Instead you run half way across the map in the other direction just to get over that small 1-2 foot ledge.
There are some periods of time where my character will drop from a ledge, but there is no animation to back up this fact.
I am not asking for glowing blue circles on the ground to indicate available areas of jump. Just simply to apply the feature to areas such as the before-mentioned.
Along with that, some form of minor animation to give realism to the motion.
Jump or no Jump? It doesn't really make a difference, but if they do it, I hope it's not "space bar, space bar, space bar, space bar, space bar....."

but yes this is a dead horse topic based on rumors that don't hold water if you actually played WoW recently. You rarely see spam jumping. And personally who the flip cares what OTHER ppl do just ignore them. -

No you are right kilta, I only played wow for about 4 months, but 60% of the time I saw tooo much jumping. Like I said though, not that its based on realism.

FF is based more on realism, while WoW is based much more on cartoons.
In reality, you don't fucking jump 5 feet in the air while just standing still. As for the ledges, it pisses me off, too. But in reality, I wouldn't jump to get over a 3 foot ledge. WOULD YOU? No, you climb it.
I say implement the ability to climb over some hinders, but leave jumping to WoW. -

Personally you guys hate jump for the STUPIDEST of reasons. stop caring what OTHER ppl do it called pam your camera to not look at them or walking away. BTW i agree in a climbing feature as well, I use a small ledge to give example to the idea. Climbing however works just fine for the same situation, and does in turn for a 1-2 foot ledge make more since.

in reallity ppl do stupid things when bored. Even if there is only an auto jump ppl who are bored will go to these places and jump back and forth. So really.... whats the point of getting upset over other ppl and what they do. If they are harassing you report it to a gm. I played WoW when litch king was launched and when the cata pre evet was going on. I in all honesty rarely seen bunny hoppers. And when I did I pretty much didn't care.
You guys go on "don't feed the trolls" "just ingore ppl" or say "welcome to the internet there ppl like this" how about you take your own advice. :) -

How many times have you seen this: you're waiting outside an instance (pre-LFG tool, obviously), and you have a handful of people jumping around randomly. Then one of them drops a duel flag, they begin dueling....and they're still jumping around like rabbits on acid as they duel. Make it a skill like flee not a feature (like wow). Usable outside of combat, but not spammable.

No open free jumping. I have a feeling if they do implement jumping its going to be Lancer Onry. and be an ability/emote not an actual jumping mechanic that would allow for jumping puzzles.
