Egi-glamour, is it MORE or LESS likely to continue with the changes to pets?

Has SE even mentioned egi-glamour since we got the Ruby Carbuncle?

I tried searching but haven't found anything. I was really excited when I heard about the feature, but it's been years now and all we've gotten is the Ruby Carbuncle.

Do you think it's going to be more or less likely to be implemented now that SMN pets have changed in the way they have?

Last question;

Though it's a bit vague, it doesn't really guarantee anything by 5.1

Though, hopefully by "update" they mean adding different egis, not just yet another carb recolor.

To be fair, this is the first time ages they've given even the roughest of timeframes, which I choose to take as a positive thing. At least they are still working on it.

I just hope it's some egis of substance. I felt so burnt when the only glamour option was another colored Carbuncle.

I mean, they already got Sephirot-Egi models in game, so surely it can’t be that difficult to implement? Maybe make it a requirement to do the Warring Triad quests and bam, two birds with one stone; not only do they please existing summoners but also keep that content more alive.

They have Ramuh-egi in the game too! I think the egis with the highest demand would probably be Shiva and Leviathan though. In-b4 they let us use re-textured wind-up eidolon minions as pets.

If they design in categories: for range and one for melee they it would be easier on the team to make them and easier on the community to use them. Titan and Ifrit move "were" almost the same before 5.0.

I just want them to use pet-specific animations.

If they don't and you glamour Ifrit-Egi with Shiva-Egi, Shiva-Egi will be attacking with flames. >_>

And I hope they extend this to the existing carbuncles too. They have summon 1 and summon 2 attack animations, they'd just need summon 3 animations.

Okay, what I REALLY WANT is for Emerald Carbuncle to glamour over Titan-Egi and have the Egi-Assault damage shield ability LOOK like the original glittering emerald animation but apply a blue/green/pink shield. Like old-school carbuncle reflect animation! Maybe even the shield persists until it's broken or wears off. :)

The pet animations are pretty minimal, they could just re-color Ifrit's attacks to be blue and call it a day tbh

And alas, 5.1 has come and gone and we've heard nothing.

Personally, I still hold out hope that we'll get Leviathan, Shiva, and Ramuh as unique summons. As I see it, we currently have a melee single-target (Ifrit), a ranged multi-target (Garuda), and a melee support (Titan). If they just follow the same pattern with the other three, we could see them all in no time. Personally, I'd see Ramuh as the ranged support, as he and Titan both are Primals that put more effort into their people rather than self sustenance. Perhaps Ramuh could create a shield that protects for less but inflicts damage on those who hit it (a la Ifrit pre-Shadowbringers). Shiva would make sense as a ranged single-target using her bow, her second command firing in a wide arc to hit multiple targets (a la Ifrit post-Shadowbringers). That would just leave Leviathan to fill the melee multi-target role, which could work well if you think about it: Leviathan's power comes from manipulating water, and he's weaker away from it than he is while out in the deep. Perhaps the egi, being mostly used on land, would surround itself in a vortex of water during combat, hitting all enemies around it. Or perhaps it fights by swimming through the air and sweeping its (crystalline?) tail at foes. I could see either of these working well.

The key thing -- at least in my opinion -- is to take into consideration what's already here and what each could add to the game, and since we already have a pet ability that affects pc's around it when used, adding three more that will be in positions on the battlefield opposite those we already have would help to balance it out.

All that said, I'd love to see egi-glamours to look like the sprites (the small elementals, not limited-pixel images) or perhaps the tribes who worship them (Ifrit becomes an Amal'ja, Garuda an Ixal, and Titan a Kobold). I'd be interested even if either type of glamour were restricted to the Mog Shop for some reason.

The concern I have with that is that there's no practical reason for a distinction between ranged and melee pets, especially now that pets can't be targeted or killed anyway. Their positionals don't really hinder the Summoner in any way, so they would need to be balanced to have situations in which their particular abilities are more valuable than their counterparts' for a given encounter.
