Please Abolish Anima!

Key Points as to why it should be taken out ( if they havent already began to do that already).

- Takes away from the exploration
- Makes it easy to get to places thus making it easier to complete everything the MMO has to offer in a Short period of time.
- Home Points are a nice addition to the game

I know I'm probably the Minority here, but at least I get my idea out there.

You don't need to use it if you don't want to. ^^

Fine as is, but maybe when (not if, WHEN :D) they add new continents to explore they can keep the anima regeneration rate as is and halve your current anima when you decide to jump between them. This could promote the usage of airships, ferries, or w/e SE decides to add post 2.0 when future expansions give us new places to travel to.

Only thing that would accomplish is inflating the time needed to do the AF job quests so we can pretend there's more "lasting" content on this game.

My anima was abolished the moment it dropped to 0.

Anima is fine. Makes travel instant for a time and then if you play longer or aren't careful with it you have to run...

I was with someone who wanted me to tele to the camp right outside of Ul'dah to get to Nanawa instead of tele to ul'dah for half the price.. Many people want to tele when it is a <5 min walk...

i'm 7/7 on jobs and gear and still sitting around 90 anima. anima is only overused when you are lazy and are looking for an excuse of why a minimum amount of content is completed within a few days.

I like anima, at times like now you can make a fortune with it x)
I usually only use it when I have to travel between world maps, like from Coerthas to Ul'dah or from Gridania to Limsa, so even with AF (which made even me use teleports a lot) I have lots of anima left while many people used up all of it for their very first AF.
And now they stand in Ul'dah, buying teleports to certain camps for 100k+..it's nice :o

Rokien would complete this thread.

Why abolish? Almost every MMORPG has "flight paths" of some kind, the anima teleports are FFXIV's. They just need to rework the system like they've done or plan to do with everything else.

funny how it comes now... during all the AF quests.

Anima is very useful for people who need to quickly get back to civilization (especially now with rested xp inns) or to meet up with a group quickly. Anyone who abuses anima won't have it for very long and those of us who want to explore the world without using it do so, so I fail to see the problem personally.

Yes, and other people have countered BILLIONS of times why anima is fine if you are smart about using it.

If some people want to take short cuts and cheat themselves out of what this game has to offer, that is their prerogative.

like i stated earlier in this thread i have completed every job quest and gotten all the job gear and am right at 90 anima. the difference is i ran everywhere because i want to. the only anima i have used is to port my party a few times from one dungeon to another.

running everywhere is fine the first few times you do it. it gets boring after a while though because the world is DEAD and nothing interesting happens in it anymore. if someone wants to port it is not bothering your game at all so why does it matter to you? once again before you use that same incorrect excuse i'm not forced to do it.

I'd like to see Anima as something that we earnt instead of a free service.

The fact that we have to pay 5,000 gil to wait several minutes to get to only 1 of 3 locations or the price on the Town Aetherite Gates passes doesn't make a great deal of sense to me in comparison of being able to teleport anywhere, anytime (save dungeons), instantly for free.

Anima is pretty hard to untentionally run out of.

I have 0 Anima. I'm still not done with my stuff. Hands off my Anima!

They could always start charging gil for teleports, after one is out of anima? Doesn't seem too lore-friendly, but a high enough price would make ppl value Anima more and encourage to share it with others more often.

Or, they could expand the current mini-aethers to nearby camps, so that the laziest whiners could conserve even SOME anima for when they really need it.

OOOORRRRRR they could add other additional stuff, like outpost warps (earned through quest) and class (con/thm?) teleports to go ONTOP of it >.>

Because its not an MMO unless you're forced to run through the same copy and pasted empty space for the majority of your play time!

I used to be all for taking it out, but after getting this deep into the game... No.

I say this because it take a LONG time to get somethings done. I think anima is actually a pretty cool system.
Its basicly your will to port your self through the aether. Though I somewhat think it should only be usable at an aetheryte crystal. :/

There's nearly nothing to explore.

It is a response to FFXIV not having an adequate transportation system that both fosters exploration and prevents hours of wasted time [this is coming from someone who walks everywhere in Skyrim]

Knowing how poorly some of you manage your anima, I wont be surprised how quickly you'll be broke and start complaining again.

Starlords true motivation for this post is she used up all her anima doing job quests

so it wants da free teleports

Buying Anima would be a good idea imo it would provide the game the gilsink it really needs.

If it were 1k per anima it would render the airships useless seeing as it only takes 3 anima to teleport to a city. I'd say 5 or 10k would be a fair price seeing as it's really easy to make lots of gil in this game.

Yep 5k could be a fair price, 10k would be to much if you want to use 1 teleport, it'll cost you over 60k for a long distance.

Tell me you like running again & again & again the same area, seeing the same textures on your chocobo, traveling from a point to another that'll spend you over 20~30min run.

Then tell me what you think of doing 3 TP and losing 18 anima, because you're doing your AF, or your group doesn't have anima anymore.

tell them then to use a chocobo to go Mor Dhona from Limsa Lominsa.
