man, the current smn feels so bad compared to 4.0

having to manually egi assault just to get ruin 4 proc, having to wait for combat to get aetherflow stacks and only getting 2 too.

feels like theyre just thinking "how can we make smn press more buttons?"

smn was already a busy job, idk why they gotta try and make it busier

looks like im gonna have to pick up some boom stick this time

Its opinions, and i respect that. But so far(not 80 yet) im really enjoing the class now, way better then SB, more active, dont take ages do bahamut, better AOE, better damage.

I love how insanely busy it is, it feels a lot more intense to play, which makes it stand out as probably one of the most complex jobs this expac. I do wish the gap after Firebird trance would be slightly reduced, the 40 second downtime until next Trance does feel like a bit of a lull, even with all the new busyness added in.

I enjoy summoner alot more after the rework, pre-shb summoner kinda lacked a aoe abilities and also stuff when you aren't in dreadwyrm trance making the gameplay rather sluggish, also egis dying to stuff.

Now we can instantly summon egis, ruin actually feels powefull now, dreadwyrm trance isnt dependant on aetherflows and egi assault 1 and 2 making egi management even better.

sounds like it's not for you. There is much slower pace jobs. Gotta have something for everyone.

Can't agree with this, I'm enjoying summoner a lot more than before the changes.

Agreed. Currently, it feels overwhelming having so many oGCDs to weave. Energy Drain every 30 seconds, Fester, Egi Assault I & II with their charges.

The only straight-forward part of SMN Shadowbringer rotation is Firebird Trance.

At least it still has fun factor unlike Scholar

The thing that bothers me the most about Summoner right now is that they appear to have taken 3.x and 4.x Machinist and applied it to Summoner. If feels like you're playing piano and hitting all these different buttons as they light up without as much thought behind why you're using this ability and when. It's like the strategy element of pacing the job and adjusting / shifting burst phases was dumped into press all the buttons before you lose the opportunity to take advantage of them. Why with the bad review that MCH has seen was SMN changed to be more like it?

You can say it's not for someone, but it's a low blow when you say it to someone who has been playing the job for years.

This is the first time I've heard anyone say anything negative about the SMN changes. Most people seem to really enjoy the changes. Sorry you aren't enjoying them though. Maybe try out RDM or BLM if SMN feels too busy for you now?

That would be so much more meaningful if my battle retainers weren't throttled to my Summoner level. I've already moved RDM ahead in progressing story, but I can't just abandon SMN if I want my retainers to be able to level too. Maybe I'll give the SCH changes a try. At least they're both still running off of ACN exp.

Low blow or is someone easily offended? Not everyone enjoys a fast pace job/class, and that is fine. Some do and I think this should remain an option for others. It is all a matter of preference and what someone may be comfortable with.

You don't HAVE to try and min/max a job and you can still enjoy it. If a job is fast and someone is struggling, just practice it, find what works for you.

I keep rearranging where all my buttons are, trying to make it work, and I'm not sure if it's improving the situation or just getting me more confused.

It's definitely feeling very "hit all the things!" and hard to work out the intended sequence. Reminding me more of bard than MCH though.
