/facetarget and the controller user community

Am I the only that feels incredibly gimped as a caster when using a controller after movement interruption changes? I know we can make a macro for /facetarget but with the sluggish UI for macros its almost faster for the server to register that we stopped normal than to hit the macro and then select a spell to cast.

I'm not sure where it would fit on the controller configuration but at least having the option to replace one of the lesser used buttons would be a great help in my opinion.

It is sad its not on controller.

For now I use XPadder to hit H when I toggle Auto Run. So its kind of automatic.

yeah it's pretty bad for sure. with the lag and the glitches that are making it to where you cast a spell and it just stops is pretty rough to deal with.

I haven't played by CNJ or THM too much but I haven't felt any problems with it. Gotta look into this some more. :/

Where do you get your signature? I like it, very simple but has everything you need.

They already said they will, including separate UIs for the two schemes.

It worked fine for controller before. Casting a spell if you were moving would stop you automatically. It was like having the spell cast and /facetarget in one button. Now we have to stop, press h, /facetarget, use a macro, or wait for the server to register our movement stopped, then cast. Overall very clunky.

Quoted for emphesis, there is no reason that casting can't automatically stop you. I see no reason for not having this.

I've gotten used to having to stop before casting after this weekend, but I agree with Kikosho that we should automatically stop when we select a spell instead of having to stop before selecting it. After a split second if we are still holding the direction we could continue moving as before and cancel the spell. It would make it feel a bit more fluid and it was actually how I was expecting it to work.

The only thing I have against this is if we ever get enemies with Gaze attacks (like FF11's petrifying Baleful Gaze that cockatrices had) it might become a nightmare playing a caster with an auto-turn target mode.

True but you can still turn it off if it is a targeting mode...or make it stop only before casting...facing the target is not needed anyway.

took me a few final AF fights to get used to stoping and casting correctly but now its pretty easy to do it without using /facetarget, there is like a half a second of delay from stopping to casting so its not that bad at all. And yes I'm a controller user
