currently trying a full wipe of the game aside from character files and then a fresh reinstall- will tell you guys if it works!

(stand by tho, considering its like an hour still to finish downloading thru the client)

Okay so I have been battling this since 5am

I have Rolled Back my Nvidia Drivers
Removed Nivdia aspect scaling
Closed all possible overlays
Updated my GPU
Ran Windows Updates
Checked DXDiag (No issues seen)
Performed a full clean reinstall of Game and Drivers

Still not working, I downgrade to Directx9 through the settings before trying to launch and that works to at least get me playing. Hope they have a fix soon, I was able to play with Directx11 no problem right before this patch.

I'm also getting this issue, I have tried reinstalling drivers and such but to no avail.
I was so looking forward to playing :(

good to know that side of things doesnt help- hopefully a fresh reinstall gets things running or else i guess the lot of us are stuck like this till SE steps in

btw question for anyone still looking at this: are you steam or non-steam client?

hm, guess that tells us at least that its not isolated to one

my theory personally is that the bumpiness of the install back at around 9 EST may have fucked with our files- either the redist. or those that handle the redist.

Yeah sadly the re-install of the game did not fix it for me. for now, DX9 is working fine. Let's hope they patch it with a hotfix soon.

PS I am using a gtx1080 mobile (Laptop)

I am using a GTX 1080, please let us know how your install goes. Until then I guess I may as well boot up in DX9

Just wanted to add my voice to the thread in saying this is happening to me too exactly as OP described, wish I understood the Japanese text so I could get a handle on what it might be. But same dll issues and direct x 11 issues, prior to update nothing was wrong. Am also trying a fresh install, will see if that works.

Edit: For the record also using an nVidia Geforce 1060 card (laptop). Also disabled all overlays, and windows game experience or whatever it's called.

I tried reinstalling drivers, no luck. im on a laptop running a GTX 1070 ran stormblood fine, no issues with benchmark for dx11 so im not sure why its not working. dx9 says its no longer supported, so hope the fix it soon this is annoying. makes u wonder how well they actually tested this hot mess.

I'm having the same issues as well, same error. Decided to turn of DX11 on the launcher and that worked. I'm running on a GTX 1060 laptop.

So I had not registered my ShB early access code to Mogstation.

After doing so I received a new screen then a new DL.

Will update from there.

Wondering if I just took forgranted Steam would take care of this for me or will have the same problem once this finishes.

I think, SE disabled an essential componant for Gforce 10xx serie Laptop in FFXIV.

I've had a couple of DX11 errors, then about three CTDs with no error message so far, GTX 1060, no other windows besides Discord open.

Same problem here.

Things I've tried:
Rebooting computer - still crashes
Reinstalling FFXIV - still crashes
Updating my nVidia geforce 1070 graphic drivers to newest version - still crashes

Having the exact same issue as everyone else. Running on an Asus ROG laptop with a 1060 Nvidia card, can run fine on DX9 but not at all on DX11. Game worked perfectly before the update. Fix your expansion, SE!

So I've been running around a bit - it seems to be in highly populated areas, especially towns that it happens to me.

From this thread it looks like everyone with the DX11 crash is running a laptop. Is there anyone on a normal desktop with the crash? I also am running a laptop with a 1070.. hmmmm

My brother has this issue. He's using a laptop with Nvidia GTX 1070. We just started a reinstall and I'm so bummed to see this didn't help.

I play on a laptop but didn't have the error but my laptop is older and has Nvidia 970M.

Also having the same issue.

I am on a laptop with a RTX2080 Max-Q. Everything was fine before update.

I currently get the EXACT error as everyone else here. I'm running a 1070 in a laptop as well.... :(

Yea, 1060 on a laptop here, same issue with launching.

im running on a win10 so i actually have dx12 , at least thats whats showing in sysinfo. and all that dx stuff is controlled by win update, which. im up to date, nothing new. so. its got to be some why the new patch is accessing dx11 stuff that.. suddenly makes it not work. hope they fix it soon.
