Question about early access and stuff.

I'm a new player so forgive my ignorance but early access for shadowbringers is tomorrow or tonight I guess right?

Is there maintenance tonight I guess? Was the expansion patch pre-downloaded?

How does this go in FFXIV?

The maintenance lasts from June 27 at 2 am till June 28 at 2 am (unless they finish early). So technically, tomorrow around 2:30-3 am it'll be playable for those with early access.

The maintenance is to patch the game to allow all the necessary information needed for shadow so those with early access can use them and those without the ea won't have their clients break or anything when a bunny, lion, dancer, or gunblade joins their queues or just stands nearby using abilities.

Summer time also exists so it'll be 10am/11am for most EU countries but incase OP is in NA...

The patch will be downloadable sometime during the day, so you'll have enough time to have it downloaded well in advance of the servers being taken out of maintenance.

For expansion patches, expect the maintenance to last the full 24 hours. Don't deprive yourself of precious sleep trying to get in hours in advance; it's highly unlikely that'll happen tomorrow.

So it went down last night/this morning at 2:00 and will come up tonight/this morning at the same time....?

Well then it should be good to go tomorrow afternoon hopefully.

Yes, but be cautioned that due to the nature of Early Access, emergency maintenance is a likely occurrence. Things can break easily with the amount of strain the servers will be under, and being DDOSed is very possible too.

DDOS has been going on for a few weeks now. Constant issues for people in central europe area, constant 90002 disconnects, or 90006, or lobby error 2002, things like that. For 2 weeks now.

Oh yes, that is very true. But Crystal, where the OP's character is from, hasn't been hit with those. They are more likely now than ever to be spreading to all data centers, regardless of location.

DDOS that has yet to be proven, please don't scaremonger people because when this kind of thing happens, everyone will feel the effects (not just Central Europe)!

Please enlighten me on why everyone I know from central/eastern europe has been getting disconnected for the past 2 weeks with constant 90002 or 90006 to fit in well with lobby error 2002 and that issue only exists on FF14 and nowhere else.

Do tell, by all means.

With new patch system for PS, it takes longer to patch game, than download it, so i hope ppl with slow connections have enough time; at least for me it takes like an hr to patch a file that took 5sec to download

So...these connection issues are only happening for the past 2 weeks. Specifically on FF14. And if we ping the servers when we disconnect it tends to mess up in the same place.

You are aware that Eastern Europe and Central Europe goes through different places to reach the server hub as opposed to Western Europe yes?

The end point is the server, the data however doesn't magically teleport into the servers.

And the explanation behind them could be absolutely anything, it doesn't mean it's DDOS. When SB was released and all those DDOS attacks happened to the NA centre (which I was on at the time), it effected players all over the world regardless of which server hub it was. Those types of attacks aren't going to differentiate what country/location/hub you are in because it's target is the game itself through any means which it can be done, hence why I'm sceptical everytime you say it's DDOS.

I mentioned a link in another thread a while back where you posted (perhaps you missed it?) where some German players were having many of the issues you were mentioning and they made a ticket here to tech. It wasn't DDOS per say but supposedly there were some routing issues causing the problem, though I don't know if they ever resolved it.
