Must be those darn male viera supporters at it again.
It has? I haven’t heard anything about it, and my connection to Aether has been fine.
We need restock our Doritos boys the day might be a little long.
Wow players upset we're getting a good expansion so they're dossing the servers :P
i kid, i kid.
Its the Whinecraft fanboys trying to get their refugees back.
Probably some stupid script kiddies thinking they're leet hax or something. This gets old.
Very few issues on Light either (Chaos' EU partner centre), although Odin head some problems the other day but wasn't a server wide thing. I mean if someone is going to DDOS, pick something that's going to get more attention like the NA or JP centres ...
Edit:. As I found this in another thread that might be useful for German residents, give it a look over.

Really?
Its nearly unplayable on Shiva sometimes... the worst was 20 sec of "Who knows what happened".
Its like that for a week for me now and its problay just getting worse with Shadowbringers...
On omega are delays, about 5-10 seconds randomly. Not often
Got disconnected once
Damn it! Those frickin’ RMTs are at it again!
People that do stuff like this really should be put in prison and kept there for life. Throw them in a solitary confinement and throw the key away sort of thing.
So far I'm on my 9th disconnect in one day, I still can't log back in, every time I try to, I get immediately disconnected. We've had this problem last year for like 3 months as well. It's really f----- irritating I'm paying for a service that I can't use because SE is unwilling to pay for good servers and good protection against this type of thing.
I've seen multiple players with connection issues similar to what it was like playing on the PS3 with multiple disconnects throughout summer and holidays just today. And, it's like this every expansion and then they announce that they've discovered DDOs attacks and increased player traffic as a compound cause. The only thing they could do, besides ahat they've usually done, would probablybbe to just custom make servers and a broadband/fiber-optics that would be powerful enough Bankrupt SE and react to the stress without a sweat, and improve the net-code, which the later might be tricky with the spaghetti code
Seems to be a node that connects Central EU yet again. I live in Northern EU and I have 0 issues again, while I see bunch of people around me having issues.
I’m on Twintania in the Light data center and I didn’t notice anything so far, except perhaps a few windows taking one more second to open up when interacting with my retainer, and it happened once yesterday. My friends didn’t notice anything either.
before its even out? hmmm
Had to check since I've been out of it lately thanks to the Buprorion :P
Anyway I have DCed a few this these past few weeks after being okay for a long while. Trying to queue up for the last MSQ dungeon as a DPS while constantly DCing is not fun. Unsure if it was my internet or something else. Early Access is going to be annoying with all the script kiddies going out.
Haven't experienced any problems on Crystal lately. They might just be targeting EU servers though, it seems.
You know..like we shouldn't be blaming everything on the WoW peeps. We need to do our own thing and not focus on them with wild ass conspiracy theories.
Am I the only one who believes the DDoS attacks are complete bs? I seriously believe SE just doesnt want to fork up for better servers. I dont understand why anyone would put in so much effort for absolutely no returns on said effort. Also, Im pretty sure there are methods to cancel out DDoS attacks almost entirely. My router has DDoS prevention. I used it to stop a chinese guy from DDoSing a server I hosted once. I banned him from the server for being a trashy human being and he got upset and started attacking. I really do hope I'm wrong about this. I just find it hard to trust SE these days. Why can't billionaire corporations combat a few people pushing in lots of network traffic in?
Possible revenge thing, maybe, SE did just dish out an attempt at clamping down on them and rolled out new report features specifically for reporting RMT related activities and advertisements.
Where's the fun in that? I particularly think it was those crazy Ultima Online folks at it again!
Sometimes it is DDoS, pretty sure a couple instances were very much proven, helped by atleast one of them being a group that was attacking multiple other companies around the same time frame. Other times its a "DDoS" AKA "a LOT of people are getting on and thus causing a situation exactly like a DDoS."
That said right now there doesn't seem to be anything happening, SE would have said something by now even if it was to cover themselves like you are suggesting they do.
Its not as easy as you make it sound to stop a DDOS. A certain group who's name I wont say comprised of 4 or 5 guys used a bot network to crash xbox, playstation and a variety of other game servers. When they did it, it was not just their home computers sending out packets they had thousands of machines sending packets out in high volume.
Not sure if this has to do with the recent influx of recent players joining Cerberus last two weeks is the server that has been closed for character creation earlier on Chaos DC.
Non official census based on lodestone counted almost 14.4k active characters on Cerberus and Moogle without taking into account the new characters created by recent players in this June.
Right now Cerberus and Moogle might be the servers with highest active characters on Chaos DC.

Not sure if it has to do with being near to reach it's full server capability.
It's not BS. And it doesn't take much effort to conduct a DDoS. A small group of people or even an individual and successfully pull off a DDoS.
And to give you more context... In WoW's prime when it was most popular, Blizzard was forced to fend off a LOT of DDoS attacks. Sometimes loser "script kiddies" just want to watch the world burn and they choose a stage that gets the most attention... like a wildly popular MMO.
Former WoW player here.
Why the hate and conspiracy regarding WoW's playerbase? I started to play this game 4 months ago and the amount of hate I have seen in the forums and in-game is worrying. I mean, its community ain't perfect, I know, but it feels like you have something against it.
