Now that Darkside is in Combat only

Can we get the old (or perhaps even the unreleased) GFX for Darkside applied to the new ability? I always loved the thematic of being some dark, brooding sword guy with this aura of darkness permeating from my person, and I know in the past that the GFX has been adjusted at least once, and potentially multiple times. Can we have this GFX adjustment reverted? Or.. even better, enhanced upon?

Yeah forget Fray, I want that aura that was shown in the job actions reveal trailer for HW,

They marketed this expansion on blazing purple flaming auras radiating from DRK, in the trailer.

Even in the benchmark tool, you see DRK pulling off a hard hitting three step combo at the start which doesn't actually exist in game. It would be nice if some of that marketing hype could actually, you know, make its way into the job.

There are so many places a proper DRK aura could show up. What about Blood Weapon and Delirium. Even our Living Shadow has a better DRK aura than we do.

I am glad they are getting rid of it because it didn't work with my glamour.

I still wish the Darkside aura would be purple and not red. Purple is so much better to depict black! :O

If you mean what the avatar does against the band of lesser sin eaters? I doubt that's more than just cutscene magic. I mean before the scene transition from Shin-Twintania (for lack of a better term) the avatar holds the sword up akin to FoS, but cancels the animation to lead into Plunge.

NO please NO. it was annoying and they did pretty well changing it long time ago !!.

I'd like that a bit, or maybe even the glowing eye like HW's benchmark showed. I know that's WAR's thing but we're copying everything else they do anyways so :^). General a better aura than just the pulsating odd red lines around the character would be nice. In general I'd love more dark looking skills in our rotation as well. Edge/Flood look so out of place when compared with Soul Eater and Syphon Strike.

It's not even Plunge. It's a dashlike charge, piercing the Sin Eater with the tip of our sword, bursting it through the nextbest wall...looks awesome, can't we have this as new gap closer? :lol:

Nah dude that's plunge. Compare how collapsed the avatar is the frame before the scene transition to current plunge's animation.

Always in agreement with an actual aura. It's something we should have had along time ago. And the purple one from the CG trailers looks really nice.

i will love have a proper edgy aura/flames around my character but DRK is allowed to have cool stuff like that?

Not until other tanks (even new ones if proper abilities are any indication) get them first.

I know the trailers are mainly for entertainment value and foreshadowing of the msq, but not having any aura is seriously a let down. I mean the one we had wasn’t the greatest but at least it added something. It’s hard to imagine the dev team was working on the rework for DRK at all given how much of a copy and paste job it seems to be. Seems to be no synergy between the kit, Mp starved, and it seems like the majority of the effort went into the graphics for Fos/eos. Considering that, how did the forget to add some sort of aura? It’s a cool feature. Seems like it would be easy to do...

I keep hoping that this early build was done late, and they are still adding to it and unf***ing it. At least that is the hope.

Ahh, my bad. I meant the dash he does after the 3 part combo against the lesser Sin-Eaters. He goes into FoS stance and charges into the last Sin-Eater.

yeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, the very first scene. if those are the moves lyth is referring to then yeah I feel like those are just for the cutscene and not indicative of scrapped moves.

What's sad is how Hard Slash actually looks like it has some OOMPH to it in this benchmark and now we've become numb to it and continue to get slow animations that don't actually make it feel like you're swinging a really heavy sword.

Always thought it was strange that my Warrior can run around glowing and powering up like a Super Saiyan but the DRK's black flames were, apparently, just too much.

At the same time add an option so that players can disable their character auras if they want too, and everybody will be happy. The main reason warrior is the tank i like the less is because of this yellow whirlwind that is so hypnotizing that after a while i can not even look anymore at someting else around me (plus the way it is cut straight at the bottom looks ugly on a mount). While the DRK actual one is way more bearable, i would set it off anyway if it was possible.

You can also want to disable auras because you dont see the point of having them if they are up all the time, they dont fit your glamour, you dont want to look like a christmas tree of some weird color, you have been traumatized by some f2p p2w mmo where being all glowy with +15 stuff was at the cost of a bare minimum of 100 euros per month, etc.

What's funny is that the post from roughly 4 years ago said one of the reasons it was removed was due to it looking weird while mounted. WAR's is pretty fine while moving (so we can scratch that reason from their post for this situation) but it definitely looks odd to have constantly going while mounted.

Shame they ended up ditching the aura and flames altogether instead of ever fixing it.

Hate to double post and bump, but holy mother of god. We still have the old aura when darkside is up LOL.

No, how about we actually fix the DRK class itself first before getting any bells and whistles (imo, the flames don't even look cool at all. It's a little over the top).

Instead of having another useless dps bonus ( are we talking about tanks right? ) why they didn't give the active skill a series of necessary secondary effect that are enabled while the timer is up?
