A Voice for the Warrior of Light

I'm pretty sure this question has been asked before but allow me to reset the conversation. We warriors of light are pretty much mute throughout our adventures. Aside from the few grunts here and there, we're about as quiet as a ant answering nature call. My question is this. If you're character were to have a professional voice actors, who would you want? Mind you that EVERYONE in Eorzea seem to speak the British tongue but don't let that restrict your options. My personal choice would be Joe Dempsie who played Chris on Skin and Gendry on Game of Thrones. Would you also believe that he voiced Arbert, the Warrior of darkness as well.

It'd make sense for the Derplander to have Arbert's voice considering Arbert looks just like him.

As for my character, I've never thought about it. Hmm... Maybe Madison Davenport? She's Materia in Dissidia NT and Strelitzia the Nameless Star in KH3.

Jennifer Hale. She already voices my main in GW2 anyway.

Never thought about it, since all I do is nod or shake my head. Maybe we have no voice? Actually thats not true, i chose my voice on character creation, he makes alot of noises when he attacks.

Gilbert Gottfried or I'd rather be silent for eternity.

Imagine his voice saying the trademark "For those we have lost, for those we can yet save."

Doesn't our character actually occasionally speak but it's just up to us as to how they actually say it?

Well they do talk when explaining things to other characters, but if I had to choose then Sam Elliot or Matthew Mercer for the guys. I can't think of any for the females at this time.

(I'm not quite so keen on British voice( actor)s, though to my knowledge the gap between screen work and voice work is a lot smaller in Britain.)

EN (American): Well... I can't pick just one.

(M): Xander Mobus, Griffin Burns, Bryce Papenbrook
(F): Carrie Kearnen, Erica Lindbeck, Laura Post

... or just go with Matt Mercer (M) / Laura Bailey (F) like everyone says; they never disappoint. (Though I do prefer variety, and I already play D&D vicariously through them as well, so...)

I'm fine with the way it is. Sure, the character doesn't speak dialogue like the others, yet your character is shown to communicate and thus you just fill the blank however you like. By comparison, games like WoW (which have voiced emotes, giving you a general idea what your character [would] sound like) doesn't speak any dialogue whatsoever and is treated as an actual mute with little to no choice or opinion on matters, who gets talked 'at' constantly, so despite essentially HAVING a voice, they feel more voiceless than the WoL. Technically, you already chose your WoL's voice on character-select due to the same thing (emotes, laughs etc), they just don't voice dialogue. By expecting VO's for the WoL, you would essentially remove such a choice entirely and risk all characters sounding the same.

Of course, other games (like GW2) break that trend, but the existence of such an example doesn't compel me to expect the same from all others.

Honestly pretending that my voice is whatever I want it to be when I 'speak' is fine. But if I had to pick a voice actor it would either be me or Brie Larson. I absolutely loved her in Captain Marvel. <3

I would also be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT sassier in reality. WoL too clean.

Melissa Fahn (in Purple Heart voice) or Cassandra Lee Morris (Fate/extra Last Encore anime, Nero... had to look up actor).... or OR whoever is voicing Darkness in "Konosuba" anime dub, she sound hilarious doing that character

or no voice as it technically makes it easyer for anyone doing role play to just "fill it in"

I'm assuming you wrote that knowing he actually did a couple player voices? Because if you didn't, that's extremely ironic.

I love playing an ostensibly quiet protagonist who can burst out into his trademark psychotic laugh, though. It adds depth. I don't think I could settle for anyone else now.
