How about a true commendation mount?

With the Fat Black Chocobo we now have multiple Fat Chocobos with pope hats. Reg Fat with hat from commendations, White Fat with hat, Black Fat with hat. Considering the devs have released like 6 PvP exclusive unique mounts that the majority of the population will never get, how about re-releasing or re-skinning some of the PvP mounts tied to commendations or other future achievement tiers?

I'm sure they'll be adding another one as the Parade Chocobo was added back in 2.4

We are totally overdue for another hopefully starting at the 4000 range and going up from there.

I think they said they didn't want to add things with requirements so high new people would feel it would take too long or be impossible to get. That's why they stopped with the Veteran rewards.

It did not prevent them to add the centurio tiger mount (3000 A and 2000 S which can take years of not missing a single hunt ^^ so almost impossible if you have a work and S spawning during working hour) and mentor mount (2000) but the last one is ok since you are not limited on when you can progress on it (just depend on you).

I wish they'd add more of those again *sigh* I was hoping for the inclusion of Terra Branford clothes or Celes Chere

Doesn't really take long to get commendations. I've played fairly casually over the years since release and have 5179 commendations.

I'd like to see more than 1 additional commendation mount, but if could only be 1 perhaps have it at the 10,000 mark? Not sure on ideas of what it could be though. Something cool that looks good on all classes/races.

depend on the role you play
as Tank, usually get at least 2 per run even I screw up
as Heal, almost certain have at least 1 even someone die of my mistake
as DPS, oh jeez, done everything beyond exceptional standard I am lucky if I get 1

I found the opposite.

Rarely did I get any as healer(nobody dies, DPS whenever I can, no close calls - still would get none)
Similar to healer with tank, possibly even less frequent - don't lose aggro, don't cleave the party, quick run with pulls that are suitable for the group
As a DPS, I would typically walk out of a dungeon with 1-2 commendations by just being a competent player who doesn't stand in AoEs, or anything that I can actually dodge, and do my job.

Over 4.5 years I have accumulated 3770 commendations, having done 5359 instanced dungeons/raids/trials. And I would say 80-90% of that, was as DPS(DRG being the majority as I didn't start leveling other classes until midway through HW)

At the end of the day commendations are totally random. Not the kind of content I will put any cool mount.

Fancy white and gold theme'd Magitek Conveyor that comes with parade abilities haha, that'd be kind of cool.

Let's not forget about that Elezen who complained a few weeks ago here, that has been playing since the beginning and only had 107 commendations. RIP.

If you get that many comms, you probably pretty likable, so I think a 4 person mount that isnt a car, would be fitting honestly

How? They introduced comms back in ARR.... I mean sometimes, I give one out to whoever didnt leave before i could click on the comms thing, if my favorite players left too quickly......only time i refuse to comm if the player was extremely unpleasant to dungeon with, like being awful to other players etc

10k? What? No!

If I started ARR, say 2021. The game has progressed tons, and I see all these people who've been playing since, say- now. They have the mount... but I'm just starting ARR. It would be ridiculous, intimidating, and not worth the effort from a new player's perspective unless they absolutely can nolife the game.

The veteran rewards are different than those kinds of mounts though: They're locked behind nothing but time. You cant speed up the process of getting them by getting invested into certain aspects of the game, you just have to wait it out. On top of that the amount of time you could pay for was (and is) limited to "only" half a year in advance so you were absolutly stuck with not getting those rewards for years if you started playing with Heavensward or Stormblood or any time after ARR release. And you had no way to influence that or speed it up.

Mounts (and other rewards) that are tied to achievments are different: You can influence that. You can influence - to a degree - how fast and how many commendations you gain, by running content (maybe even unpopular content), being nice and helpful to people and picking jobs that have a higher chance of getting commendations (hint-hint: its the jobs that are in high demand, tank and healer).
Adding another commendation-reward could actually help to encourage good behaviour and more tanks and healers in queues (since those are some of the main-factors when picking who to commend - at least going by what I've read in threads on that matter).

They've added the hunt-tiger and the mentor-pony and both are locked behind a huge amount of time and effort, so I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of people just looked at that and went "Nope, not bothering with that!" - but thats their choice then! They know they could get the mount if they'd put in that effort - veteran rewards were just a waiting game that no amount of effort on your side could shorten.

I would love to see a new reward for the commendations - I'm approaching 5k and every one I get feels a bit like its gone to waste, specially when its one that goes to me instead to my boyfriend for the simple reason that I play a tank and he plays a dps.

I'm more interested in them putting mounts to achievements that most people with get just playing the game over time (like with comms, running dungeons with certain class, etc) then whoever thought the Tiger mount was a good idea. Be interesting to see a new comm mount.

Commendations are kinda dumb and meaningless, I'm all for new mounts but let's tie them to something meaningful.

Excuse you? Uh, no???

I played on an EU server for awhile, mostly german. I can't speak or understand German, but if I want to give someone props, I can do so via comms. People deserve recognition for the cases of going above and beyond, or heck, just having a nice glam.

The commendation feature in this game is really badly designed. I would love new mount achievements but not related to this feature, its horribly flawed.

Think of a cool achievement SE for many new pve mounts please!!!! :) ...other then from a horrifically flawed design.

it does not need to be a mount, I just want more rewards and they should not be every 2000 commendations, more like every 200, just make a new glamour set and give 1 part every 200 commendations or more titles at least, that won't take any work.

Whenever I got the commendation prompt after a dungeon run, I'd just pick one at random, since I usually had no idea whether one player did anything better than another. I assume I'm not getting them any more, since I stopped running dungeons / primals/raids when they were no longer required for the MSQ.

I think it'd be great to have a comm mount, but one that's actually more attainable, like in the 500-1000 comm range. [s]I say obtainable, but I think that # range might be more obtainable for heal/tank mains than DPS mains. Not sure.)

As much as I'd love another commendation mount, I'd much rather have commendations be a usable currency system.
