are all of the combat/job changes going live on the 28th, but inaccessible to people who did not preorder?
If they do it like previous expansions, and there's no reason to assume otherwise, then that's exactly how it'll work. People won't be locked out of the game during early access, they'll just be locked out of content that they didn't preorder.
More or less, yes. Think of it like playing the game now, but without Stormblood installed. You have access to the game and everything pertaining to Heavensward but wouldn't be able to unlock Samurai, Red Mage or access any Stormblood specific content. Early Access for Shadowbringers will work the same until July 2nd.
Well, at this time, the CD key is not release yet for ShB, all you have is the early access code if you have pre order.
How this works? The game assume that you have a ShB account until July 6th, starting on June 28th at 5 AM ET. So, you can access every content of ShB, even if you don't have your CD Key yet, until July 6th. The delay is for people who wait for the physical collector edition, because SE post them really late, they are not on the way yet. So if you bought a digital copy, just make sure to enter the key before the 6th of July. Also, you can pre order until the release date so if you buy it on June 30th, you'll get the early access code.
Also, be warned that if you live in Canada, you might end up receiving the physical after July 6th, happened here for HW and SB. If you have someone kind on the SE support center (call number, not online ticket) you might have a key if it happens to you.
so... I won't be able to Dance as a DNC until the 2nd of July?
Are you saying that you did not pre-order and you will be buying the game on release day? Because that's what would prevent you from unlocking DNC until 02 July.
Pre-order. It comes with some neat earrings that give xp bonus all the way to 70, and you'll be able to unlock DNC on 28 June with early access.
The changes to jobs will be available to you on the 28th even if you didn't order Shadowbringers, but you'll be unable to level above 70 and therefore not be able to access actions and abilities for levels 71-80.
You won't be able to start a Gunbreaker or Dancer because the quests won't be available to you. You won't be able to progress to the new area because you will fail the check. Until you order and enter the code.
I pre-ordered ShB like... when the counter had 120+ Days left I think... I'm still patient and being a good boy while waiting lol
I can't contain my excitement Tbh...
also... 'Early Access' was marked in my MogStation but my 'Collector Edition' was not... despite ordering the CE Edition 100+ days earlier, anyone knows why?
Thanks in Advance
As Rongway said, you need the full code that you'd enter at launch for the CE stuff. The pre-order code is just a generic code that is in no way specific to the variety of editions released. It's that 2nd code for the full license you receive that tells the system "This person bought CE, shovel these digital goodies into their mogmail."
On the 25th (Tuesday, regular patch day) or 28th (Friday) they will patch the game to 5.0.
Then on the 28th, everyone who pre-ordered Shadowbringers and have redeemed the pre-order code will have access to all of the Shadowbringers content of 5.0.
Collectors Edition codes more than likely become available on the 2nd, at the official release.
This isnt 100% new classes will be available from the start of early access this is what happened in Heavensward and Stormblood the new classes required that you could get to the new zones for their class stories but im sure you can pick up the job quests in the ARR world.
Everyone can play the game but only those who used the early access code will be able to do 5.0 content.
Once the early access period wears off (which is about a week) you will need to use a code (the base game/digital CE/code from the physical CE) in order to continue playing.
Just curious. Have you guys received the 2nd code already?
I only have 1 code so far which is the early access code that I received in late Feb.
Probably only those who have the game through Steam have the CD-Key for Shadowbringers already (assuming digital orders here) - as it seems those who pre-ordered via SE store only have the early access key.
I'm a Steam XIV user and have both the early access key as well as the full-product CD-Key. Obviously can only activate the early access key (which I already have obviously) till they enable activating the full key.
