is a rumor going around that the auto reclaim timer is glitched again. As far as I know it's a rumor and plots opening is just coincidence but I'm not gonna take any chances lol
So excited to see all of them gone by the time I get home from work.
I know right?
Checked 50ish today, about 10 hours after auto demolition would have kicked in, and not one was purchasable, and quite a few had people camping, including one I knew people reported for botting before.
I gave up after a few hours. I have to work tonight and I'm confident that they'll all be gone by the time I get home, and even if not, I'd have to repeat this process of checking every plot again and praying.
I have better things to do in my life than camp houses that is just basically "You have to keep paying us to keep your subscription to keep your house."
I could train Siberian tigers. I could learn another language. I could learn to fix broken cars and make enough money to buy a real house. I could learn to program Unreal Engine and make my own game with houses and use Final Fantasy Assets, and just not publish the game to the public.
...yeah I'm a little salty over this demo timer, point is, if it's discouraging people that want to buy a house to buy a house in the first place, it probably isn't doing it's job very effectively.
Already been to the 100 plus plots on Excalibur and none ready to buy. :(
I stoped playing way more than 45 days ago, just got an email last week about my house being demolished. So, the feature prolly wasn't working and is now working. The date coincides with the time limit they gave me to log back in.
maybe 6monthish of not being subed maybe more. That date is to coincidental.
Yeah. Two nights ago I sat by a plot for 3 hours and someone came by and transferred their existing house.
Then last night when I got home, I found another plot that was unavailable to purchase. Went downstairs for dinner and by the time I got back, it was gone too.
Then finally, found a third plot last night in Goblet that I sat by for 4 hours before I had to go to sleep. It was gone when I woke up this morning.
You reap what you sow.
I think I may just saw screw it on the housing until they change the way the system works. Even with all these plots available, playing the guessing game / clicking non stop placards is not fun gameplay. I feel like I'm working and not playing a game, which is sort of messed up as this is supposed to be something you do for fun.
Lost one plot when me and a friend both had to AFK at the same time for less than 5 minutes (each)
Camped another plot for 14 hours with a friend before we had to go to bed, a person transferred there overnight. A lalafel admitted to using a script the entire time.
Friend started using the buying house script and got their house with it while they afked for 15 minutes to eat.
They encouraged me to use it. I didn't want to, but apparently nobody's been getting banned for using it from what I've seen. As I've said, there's been a person that I knew was botting that is botting even to this day to get one of the now many available plots.
It's discouraging when botters get away with botting and take houses, and if you don't want to bot, you could wait MORE than 14 hours.
Now the one day many are available, the majority are not purchasable after (roughly) 10-12 hours of being available (Assuming they came up at about the time maintenance normally ends) and those with lives kind of have to live their lives.
I guess it's a sign that if you don't have the time to camp a house, you probably shouldn't get one anyways, because it isn't worth staying subscribed to FF forever just to keep your house.
Maybe there's hope then if most are still unavailable right now. I get off work in 20 minutes.
Good strategy. Once you have a house (any house) you can relocate and by-pass the housing timer.
Could technically not camp since there are so many and just click on them once to see if timer has worn off since many plots have depreciated a few times at this point.
Seeing sprouts whether alts or truly new players, strengthens my stand on requesting/lobbying for a form of an improved apartment system, with a bigger floor area possibly as wide as the 1st floor of a large estate, with an instanced balcony that allows gardening. So that new players can have some form of private housing, that is a little on par with that of plotted houses. Untill such time that they have that rare opportunity to own a plotted house.
(If SE stands by their decision to maintain the housing districts as a form of rare commodity.)
I got a house and feel as though there should be, until the system is fixed, a ticker as a reminder. 45 days from today, the next wave. I lost 2 houses before I managed to win at the third. It wasn't fun, but I only managed because there were so many and the sting of losing hurt a lot less.
I've been trying for 6 hours today. I'm about to lose it.
Are you talking about a reminder to not lose your house? if personal housing, if you don't step foot in the house for 30 days, there will be a notification in game. After 35 days an email goes to your registered email address. After 42 days another is sent. At 45 you lose the house. If it's a FC house, the emails go to EVERYONE in the FC. So you get plenty of notification to not lose your house.
I have a friend that was at it for 15 hours before she got the house. Best of luck to you and everyone else still trying! ♥
There won't be another large round of demolitions like this until 45 days after the timer gets restarted from being paused again. (Hopefully not for a few years at least since it's only paused for multiple really bad disasters on the NA side.)
BEST QUOTE FROM TONIGHT!!!
I got home and checked a bunch and managed to find one out of sheer luck after checking out various plots. It's not the ideal location, but the fact that I have one now alone makes me go "Woo"
...It doesn't mean I'll ever still approve of this housing system mind you.
I picked the most expensive plot with one of the preferred locations and which no one was camping. People tend to want to save a few hundred thousand gil competing with players and bots. So I camped it for about 5 hours solo and now I'm finally a home owner on a legacy server.
Yeah I'm done with this BS. Spent all day 16 hours total trying to get house today and nothing. Now there are multiple people per lot again. Heading to sleep as it's not worth messing up my sleep schedule / health over this stuff.
Don't even want a house anymore. With this kind of system no way they are going to improve anything with housing anyways since they know most people can't get it.
Un freaking believable spending 16 hours clicking on signs with over 100 houses available and nothing. This random timer can burn in a dumpster fire.
I finally got one after a total of about 8 hours yesterday (plus a total of 7 hours earlier in the week at other random plots for a grand total of about 15 hours).
I had about 8 different Gridania plots I was cycling between, some plots free in different wards. I did randomly (and quite often) check the other three cities throughout the night too.
Right before I was about to give up and go to bed (around 2 a.m.) I found probably the worst Mist plot was available so I bought it up, and then transferred to one I wanted in Lavender Beds. The upside is I got one of the locations I wanted while the downside is that I had to pay almost double to get it.
But, thankfully it's over and now I can start decorating.
