The quests are not hard. Some of them take SOME skill. Mostly it just takes a lot of anima and time.
I hope the dungeons are not this easy.
Oh, feel free to trollz. <3 trollz.

Did he say the quests would be difficult? I know he said the Raids will be difficult so who knows.
I dont believe him with the word "difficult" anymore though. But it might just be the testers who suck.
He said the quests would be very challenging. I'll find the quote O.o
are you doing the quests as a level 50? Because you need to pull your head outta your ass and realize the job quests start @ 30 and are meant to be taken on AS you level! not all at once! If you look at your AF you'll notice the gear start @ 45 and the last piece is level 50, the AF is meant to be collected AS YOU LEVEL!
So yeah it's tedious as a level 50 to go and do this all at once, but it's a lot of well paced content for a person just coming into lv 30+
Pwnt. Idk, the rank 50s werent hard either. Finishing them now. MNK, PLD, DRG done. BLM, WHM, BRD on quest 5 working on them right meow.
The DRG quest is pretty challenging. 3 wipes so far.
Last DRG fight can get rough if you don't know what to do, my group was trying a few things, first was charge in and get raped fast lol.
Had to concede defeat because it was getting to 4:30am for some people, but we will be back.
The BLM boss can be quite a pain when those fireflies pop out and instantly spam ancient magic on your rear.
People do lvl 30-45 quests with lvl 50 jobs and complain about difficulty...
This is why I didn't level any job higher than 30, before the patch. So I could progress with the advanced job quests as intended instead of rushing through it at a high level with amazing gear.
(p.s. I'm not saying that my way is better/worse than having lots of jobs at 50 already; there's pros and cons to both. My cons include the fact that it'll still be a while before I can experience the awesomeness of the primal battles and all the high-level stuff in this patch!)
I actually think the difficulty is exactly where it needed to be for the Dragoon quest line. I loved the entire thing, start to finish.
Plus anyone doing the Warrior or Bard job is not saying that is too easy. I personally have not been able to pass the Ant Princess to get my Bard gear, what about you?
Put it into perspective, people. If you had a group of 75's doing AF quests in XI, it would be seen as THIS EASY (too easy) too.
The fact that AF was released long after MOST people have at least one 50 (and the majority of those have multiple of those) makes it look like the AF quests are crazy easy. Granted, you need to BE 50 to flag the AF quest, but most people starting the game after these quests were introduced will have to sit through the slow, steady progression of class quests AND job quests.
I always found it interesting how class quests stopped at 36. I wanted something BEYOND that. Now it all makes sense. When you're actually leveling a job, 5 levels can feel like a 'long time' and quests to obtain different abilities/gear can also feel like a 'long time'. It seems like every time I see a new patch come out for any MMO, many people complain about how 'easy' it was. Well yeah... if it's not designed for strictly endgame content, it's going to be easy to an extent... especially when EVERYONE is running around doing it at the same time.
In a few weeks, when 'doing job quests' is not the hot new thing, it will be harder to find people to help you because there won't be dozens of people standing conveniently around the job quest NPC.
Everyone in our party with the quest flagged was screaming OMG in mumble. SE did a fantastic job with this quest. Don't skip the story for this one when you do do it. The final scenes absolutely steal the show, but understanding why they are happening makes is even sweeter. Someone on the design team has a very good understanding of Final Fantasy Dragoons.
Yep, I completely agree. When I played FFXI (back when the cap was 75), I soloed most of my coffer keys, and many other things that could be soloed for my other jobs. Anything else, all I needed was one or two other people to help me. The reason people see it differently is because AF quests existed when we started playing XI. They didn't with XIV. I don't know when they were introduced in XI compared to the JP release (approximately one year before NA release), but that would be some food for thought, too.
Know what I did at 99 cap? I soloed all of the gods but Kirin. Was tedious work~
I soloed CoP from 1 - 8.4...so tedious.
I soloed all of my AF, Relic and Empyrean AF + 1~2. Tedious, Tedious!
I soloed all Limit breaks (but 10 and Maat stye fights) for new players, so, so tedious.
FFXI's AF and limit was released with RoZ as part of the leveling experience (cap before RoZ was 50, AF starts at 52 iirc).
As someone who just restarted and doesn't have any 50's, I'm getting a similar experience out of the job quests in FFXIV as I did from AF in FFXI.
Ok, lets add two months to our timeline, so May, making the jobs have been out for awhile. Lets say this is your first 45. Now try to do these quests for the gear and final job battle WITHOUT EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER trying to get them done at the same time. Unless you have a really caring LS, good lucky building a party to help with that Dragoon final battle. I was able to get my black mage quest line done due to that fact every step of the way, I had 40+ people doing the same quest.
This content was made for the new player to work up to and be a rite of passage.
last WAR fight is beyond brutal, all I'm gonna say.
I don't know about tediousness. I do things with other people and always have a blast.
Tl:dr? Blackmage don't give a damn.
Idk what people are complaining about. We have been 5 or 6 manning all of the jobs. 6/7 jobs, in 24 hours. O.o
I think these quests certainly add that motivation to level that most people complained about early on in this games life. That alone is worth it.
With you 100%.
I reactivated for this patch, logged in the minute the servers went up... and after 20 minutes I was getting my second WAR quest: "Go kill Sirocco".
Really? Again?
The game is well aware of what NMs I have killed before. They could have given players who already killed the NM the choice: "Oh you smell like you fought Sirocco already so you don't have to do it again unless you want to. (Yes/No)" or "Oh nevermind, you are too strong (my level, 50, is way over Sirocco's) so no point in hunting it unless you really want to".
But that's GoodGameDesign and they don't do any of that here.
I forced log out and haven't logged in since, nor plan to, unless maybe if I read something really good about the patch in here but I'm not holding my breath.
But seriously, this game has a reverse counter over its head and it's sad to see that it's the absolutely-obvious-little-stuff what escapes the geniuses in yoshida's team.
It's dumb killing the same mobs over and over again, they are trying to give them use, which is fine, but, this is my 5th time killing em. I killed some at level 30 as well with friends.
The AF shouldn't have been
>walk to easy place to get
> click on box
>get af
It should have been
>walk around finding the box(that spawns every 5mins in a different location around the area)
>Kill things for keys
>NM pops when open box
>Kill nm
>get af
I would have been happy with that.
The quests were perfect for the jobs it self, not the af, I hated how they did the af.
The quests were never said to be hard to obtain so why is it such a surprise? It's not even going to be the best to even need such a challenge.
Once you 50s get back on your high horse anyone else that's behind in level will have a hard time getting it anyway. So no, it doesn't need to have so many hoops like FFXI.
Oh please.
If you actually understood the post you replied to you would know I never complained about the fact that I had to kill a low level monster, or do a low level quest as a level 50.
No, I complained about having to go kill a damn NM despite the fact that I've killed it several times before.
So SE-as-usual, they make players go camp a worthless NM to inflate playtime and pass it as content.
