1.21 First Impressions

Well I just logged on and did a couple levees on my Con to check out the new magic casting system. I like being able to cancel a cast, but I don't like being able to move around. I also think that I saw Uldah scenery got updated, and I think I saw a new weather effect in the sky. Next I'm gonna try some synths to see how the new HQ system is.

I swear this game is running much smoother than before. I dont have a FPS counter but it has to be a bit higher than before 1.21.

So what does everyone think of 1.21?

I think....I need to actually log in and try it. But instead I'm reading the forums.

Crafting abilities are now permanently selectable, and don't show up randomly anymore!

First Impressions:

-Jump= Epic
-Disembodiment = meh.. but does a ton of Damage
-Elusive Jump= EPIC Best move so far :o


Now doing a LONG quest to get ALL the Gear! ( Feels like Zelda.. First is is this place.. the second is in that place.. the third is in this place...) hehe LOVE IT!

This, in and of itself, makes this patch my favorite by far.

Since we're talking of the sky, give a look at south-east (even during the day)

I really wish SE would have kept where if you're running and start casting that you automatically stopped running to begin casting. Was such a nice change from XI and much less frustrating than a "You cannot cast while moving" message... but I guess this is what we have to life with now.

Also the time remaining bar on synths decreases much slower, actually letting you talk to your LS

Crafting is SO much better now!

till now i love it.. just the pally quest solo was Hard !!! .. got whiped at my lvl 31 glad LOL
Thanks for the guy who loitered around there and wanted to help me do it after resurrecting me :)

I still have to figure out the new /equip command for the macro for the pally item and the rings / earring
any clue?
also my hotbar was screwed up and i had to redo it all over again

Oh yeah the loading of game seems to be a lots faster now. less stuttering in game
Still not perfect.. but it's getting there :D

after finishing the 1st pally quest some jewelry/ tombstone takes up a slot in my inventory.. lol.. any clue what to do with it except for throwing it away. cant use or equip it

The crafting changes are nice so far
- hq and careful synthesis is more worth while with huge xp gains the higher you go.
- can use your skills whenever you want, finally!

It seems to me getting the AF armor is a pretty speedy process? I see lots of people have it already, was kind of hoping it might be more of a challenge, or something. Oh well, overall great patch so far from the small part I played.

The Uldah inn quest had some humor to it, good stuff

Getting my ass kicked by DRG R50 quest! FRICKEN SWEET STORYLINE

Liking it so far but I need to get a little higher in level. Spit Fire handed my ass to me since I was on my own. Also, does anyone know how to get the Bard thing for your Chocobo? I checked them out at the stables, but the guy told me that the companies sell them. I keep going back to the lady (Immortal Flames) who exchanges your seals for stuff but she doesn't have them. Unless, of course, I'm missing something.

Joined 2 random whm wannabees when were to kill the sheep nm, stuck together and formed full pt and doing DH now for chest. Having fun ^^
