Did they ever say if it will give xp or not?

I don't think they've even talked about it since they first mentioned it.

They haven't said anything further about it, but I really hope it does. I can't see the amount of people who want to replay the quests without an alt, for no xp being all that high a number.

Also on my wishlist, I know they said you wouldn't be able to pick and choose quests which is fine, but would be really nice if you could start at a specific expansion. I'd love to replay HW several times.

I believe they did mention that it would give all rewards, including experience.

But I think it was also mentioned that you HAD to start back from the very beginning each NG+ you do, meaning you have to go through the ARR-HW patch stories each time... Which would be inconvenient. As well as this then also being a thing that makes it more annoying to level higher level jobs, such as if you wanted to NG+ GNB or DNC to level from 60-80, you'd have to go through all of ARR + HW to get to a level appropriate point of the MSQ...

Though, it should be decent if you're leveling a job from level 1-80, aside from the whole, ARR-HW timesink :rolleyes:

All rewards? I doubt I'll be able to spam The Ultimate Weapon to farm fantasia.

It's not exactly "spamming" when you have to play through from the start of ARR each time.

By the time you get there, you'll probably have put enough time into the game that it's equivalent to paying for that Fantasia in the first place.

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm talking about being able to do quests over and over again via NG+. If the quests give the same reward, that means a fantasia every time I do that particular quest in NG+.

I'm wondering if it will re-lock sidequest/non MSQ duties.

I'd run MSQ again if it means I never have to see Labyrinth or Crystal Tower raids ever again in my Alliance Roulette.

Starting all the way back from ARR really pinched a nerve here!!!

It's more grinding than spamming. Spamming usually refers to something you can do quickly and repeatedly, not something that'll take at least a couple of weeks to get through again.

Uh, it's one quest: The Ultimate Weapon.

Maybe you're thinking you have to redo the whole MSQ? I believe they said you can pick and choose what quest you want to do.

Have to wait until June 14 to see if it get announced for 5.0 otherwise it could be a 5.1 or 5.2 release

The consensus here seemed to be it required starting MSQ from the beginning.

They haven't actually said anything about how it'll work in practice, so really we're all speculating. But I really doubt they'll just let us spam one quest over and over when it's the one with a reward that makes them a ton of cash on the Mog Station.

Oh, ok, I went back and I guess that's right. Though they also said there are different modes and you can stop in between, so now I'm confused, but MSQ is treated as one mode it seems.

I've hoped and dreamed that New Game+ would allow us to change our City-State and Free Company since not even a Fantasia can change that aspect of your character.

It would be nice to experience the other City-State's exclusive quests in the beginning of the game up until "It's Probably Pirates".

I've also dreamed of having a way to rearrange my characters on the character selection screen. This would allow me to do it indirectly by modifying my character with a name change, race change, and a New Game+.

Is there any information on this game mode as the only solid thing I've heard about it is that "you get to replay main story quests."

They've not said anything more about it, than what's been covered in this thread, sadly. I'm hoping we get some details from E3.

I'm rather excited about it. As a former fantasia addict I've changed my character several times over the past 5 years and while I've been happy the whole time, it's created a bit of a disjointed effect on the overall MSQ and to make matters worse I'm actually planning to fantasia again. Now ultimately I've been okay with this and not sweated it. But now the idea of replaying the MSQ on my main is in sight, I'd really love to do so from ShB launch and then go into the new story fresh from that replay (I even have a convoluted plan to change my glamour at specific points in the story).

But the longer we go without any more info, the more worried I get. It's possible that New Game+ will only be available if you have no MSQ to do, meaning we'd have to complete ShB first. Or they may be planning to implement it a bit after launch. If that's the case I'll just have to deal but I've started to get excited now, so some certainty would be nice, so that I can prepare myself either way.

I'm hoping they break it at least like it is in the inn. ARR, post ARR, HW, Post HW, SB, post SB, etc.

This would be really nice. Doing it all in one go sounds kind of miserable, but I can't really say for sure until we know how this all works.

I suspect the NG+ will feel more repeatable than a 1 time thing due to the Trust System.

It would give players the ability to experience NG+ for return for Party play or Solo play using your own custom built Trust NPC team. Plus less Queue time for players who play DPS jobs.

I thought they said the trust system was for ShB only areas/instances/etc.

I assume you mean Grand Company (the armies of the city-states)? You can change that by going to another GC's headquarters and taking a quest to change allegiance. Your first swap is free, any subsequent changes will cost 50,000 gil, and you can only change once every 15 days.

I started an alt in each of the cities just to experience all 3 beginning quest chains. Most are still on Pirates all this time later.
