I was able to start the download.

Edit:

Never mind. I'm now getting an error saying that the .zip file failed/is forbidden. Something's off.

Yup! I had to refresh several times, downloading now <3

Access denied. I'm guessing the hamsters can't handle all the requests to download at once? lol

EDIT: Finally started downloading after attempting it two dozen times or so. It's moving super slow though.

2nd EDIT: Got to almost 1GB then it "Failed - Forbidden". Sucks!

I downloaded it on Opera, since on chrome I was getting that error after it started downloading for a couple of seconds.

It worked for me when i went to Lodestone and clicked on the old Stormblood benchmark icon instead of the link above, maybe it works for others too, unless i was just lucky it happened to work just then

Got it installed, but I can't actually start it or create a character. :X When I click anything, the "character creation", "start", and "X" buttons all flicker and nothing happens. :(



e: reinstall fixed that right up. :p

I've been a tad grumpy because my husband planned a 5 day trip for us starting the 28th, but I suppose it may not be the worst thing in the world. Let the servers sort themselves out, and come in once things have calmed down some.

In the middle of extracting it, was annoying to download it, will make so many Hrothgar.

So hrothgar hair is locked to the face, with a choice of 4 faces and 2 hairs per face. lol.......

Viera have a ton of unique hairs but it seems they are locked from using other hairs that all races can use? Or, at least they aren't present in the benchmark. Hmmmm....

Most of Viera's are with/without bangs though, so its about 9 unique ones.

Hate that Hrothgar's hair is locked to their face, but considering that this is their first unique race that they do i'm not that surprised.

I thought the reason for locked genders was to allow time to fully flesh out both races. These races have LESS customization than previous races. Major letdown SE. What is there looks great but who wants to see the same 8 characters running around. For races that can't wear most headgear I expected far more options to make heads unique.

Not really digging the color choices for the Hrothgar fur...

While I agree with some that may be disappointed with certain lack of options (I could've sworn Viera were going to get a more beastial face option like Fran's), keep in mind that it's not set in stone. They can add more options with updates and the benchmark isn't exactly indicative to what we'll have available at launch. So let's not get our panties into too many twists okay?

Anyways here's my Viera. Very happy with her. I was hoping for a dreadlock option but this will suffice.

Hell there's a bit that's just still untranslated from japanese.

At first i was a bit disappointed at the lack of options but changing hairstyle, haircolor and eyecolor makes alot of difference. This is the same face except different hair, haircolor and eyecolor (edit: oh and lipcolor)

been having fun playing around with character customization, randomize option is pretty great haha. I'm overall satisfied but they can DEF do more with the character customization. In fact this sorta made me realize how outdated the character creation is for ff14. I'm not saying its terrible and I've liked the characters I've created and I like seeing what other people come up with and there is a degree of difference in various player characters, but there is def room for improvement.


but yea i'm happy with the Viera I've created, can't wait to play her in game

I'll download it but unfortunately I can't use it because my folders are read only on windows 10 and no matter what I do I can't seem to change it and one else having this problem or has had this problem?

Having the same problem here as well

If it's saying that your files are in read-only mode try extracting the file somewhere else. I threw mine in a subfolder of my documents and it worked fine.

You can fix that buy copy pasting the files from the folder you extracted the zip to to a new folder. For some people the permissions of wherever it's extracted to are broken. Moving it fixes it, and extracting it somewhere else -can- fix it, but won't always.
