Cross World Visits Are Ruining Hunts

The new cross world visit system is ruining hunts. Is this what you intended SE? Goblin's hunt community was one of the best. We have always waited 5+ minutes on S ranks and 4 minutes for A ranks. Now we are being plagued by early pulls and the last S rank I went to at 3 am CST was nearly all wanderers. There is a discord for cross world hunts. SE, you do realize that western culture is filled with a hustle mentality, where ppl want to have everything given to them and not do the work themselves unlike your culture based on honor. This cross world visiting needs to be revisited by developers. Possibly do something like turn marks off for hunts when ppl leave their home world to discourage the hunting. Better yet, just do away with the visit system.

I think the best you should ask for is that those visiting another world are not allowed to engage in hunts. Doing away with the visit system is on the extreme.

Goblin was a low pop world eh? One of the new ones if I remember correctly.

While the loss of an organized and tight knit community is lamentable, it's not as if the hunt system was meant to be an organized server wide event.

They should make as to if you kill a hunt target on a server that is not your home world u will not get seals unless its the weekly from the post.

I don't know how you do hunts on other servers, I still haven't tried it, but, on Jenova, for the A ranks, we have scouters that will look for every A rank, and when we found everyone, we call at least 5 minutes before giving the first location that a train hunt is about to start, on lots of Linkshell. Then, we call the first location, but we don't wait 3-5 minutes between each A, but try to wait maybe 1 minute between each A (when noone early pulls) because many of us understand that it's not everyone who play on High end PC or even have the game installed on a SSD, so must of the server won't just rush and early pull. But, even if 95% of the comunity is nice, there will always be that selfish 5% who think their time is more precious than everyone else and doesn't want to wait, and most of the time, those guys don't even scout or help to make spawn the S ranks.

This may look frustrating, I know that, but, SE can't really do anything against that. The best you guys can do is remove those guys form the LS so they get the info late...

Also, just a question, is there some multi-server hunt LS? As I said, since 4.55 I' not really active, playing a bit every days but not really doing hunts waiting for Shadowbringer... But if a LS like that exist, I might be interested.

Hunts were not designed around people waiting for others. There is no such thing as early pulling.

Hello my fellow Goblineer, I agree with u it has shot our awesome hunt community into a frenzy and good luck getting a CWHL cause everyone sais go through discord instead of our old way of just shouting and getting a LS invite and A ranks die quicker then a lvl 70 pld doing a big pull in the burn wearing lvl 60 gear.

But for what it's worth I made a CWHL and am currently recruiting and would love to have fellow long term hunters like u join, other then that I'm just trying to find some stability cause our hunt scene got turned upside down.

You have taken the right approach, world visit isn't going away, but you can work with other servers to participate in their trains, and overall its a net gain for everyone involved. People are hunting upwards 300 S ranks per week, an achievement that took years is now reduced to a 2 months grind.

Not at the moment but they are working on a cross-world LS. People just use discord for now.

There have been a good amount of these threads; I think one of them with almost this exact name. :eek:

In your opinion, it is ruining them; in others' it has improved them and got a lot more people to hunt who previously felt the spawners on their world hogged all of the hunts. People who struggled to get enough S ranks after work are now getting plenty. It doesn't matter who you are, there is now something for you to spawn that someone else isn't spawning. Someone else spawn your agrippa? Go use your maps on 7 other worlds! Miss Gamma because you were in a dungeon? Go and spawn it on another world! It's so much better now.

I tried waiting 5 minutes at a Goblin A rank. Guess what? People still ran up to it as it died and missed it. However long you wait people will complain. 2-3 minutes is enough for me to get to a hunt on another world, and was enough for me before I had a high-end PC with an SSD.

When a hunt is called you need to teleport immediately or you'll miss it. You can enable chat timestamps in your settings so you can see if the call was made in the same minute you got back from being afk.

The anti-wanderer attitude of a minority of individuals is what causes people to early pull on Goblin, honestly. If there is a hunt up on another world it may get pulled fast too.

People from Goblin who I am rather certain relay to hunt linkshells were present, so there just wasn't anyone in those hunt linkshells that were interested in showing up. It's hardly our fault if Goblin doesn't care about its hunts. We spread the word, there was a decent wait and it took ages to die. The hunt was right by the aetheryte too. I don't see the problem here.

It's important for distributing load during an expansion launch, given their past problems. It's their alternative to a cross-world marketboard, which was not realistic from a development standpoint. They want you to be able to do hunts and maps with your friends on other worlds. It's hugely convenient to be able to visit your friends on other worlds, enter their houses, or just not have this barrier there. I have met so many great people and made so many friends, including from Goblin, thanks to this.

How can you call your hunt community active, when you obviously encounter S-Ranks triggered, found, shouted and killed by almost only Wanderers?

There is one thing that makes crossworld Hunts complicated is the issue with being unable to teleport while you are in a party. I am guessing they focus on one world at a time before splitting up and moving to another world? I have seen at times where there were quite a few A rank hunts just sitting here on Balmung with not a single person even nearby them. XD The only thing about this whole set-up is that it doesn't help or work for the more casual people who don't focus the hunts but find them on the occasion and want to slay it but not able to get a group together for it cause "train".

Phoenix has a very active hunt scene so I've got no idea what your talking about, I really seen wanderers ever spawning them but they swarm them almost as soon as they spawn as they stalk the zones with ACT.

For A ranks I believe people are coordinating on discord what server to focus on, so like someone from Goblin, Malboro and Balmung scouts those A ranks, and then people go through them in that order. Note A trains only do SB hunts.

Do you have the link to this discord? I don't actively do hunts on a regular basis but I do quite a bit of crafting/gathering and tend to run across quite a few hunts overtime. Btw, does anyone ever update any of the specific hunt tracking sites. If so which ones are reguarly updated?

I heard goblins hunt community was ruined before cross world, which was why the hunt maps creator decided he no longer wanted to play the game.

Well sorry but you are not on our server and it has been the standard for us to wait after initially calling it in linkshells since hunts were introduced so yes there is such a thing when the majority waits.

That doesn't take away from the fact that there's no right or wrong way to do hunts. World server visits will remain and you'll just have to find a way around cross server early pullers if it bothers you so much.

I think both sides have a point.

On one hand s ranks are easier to get than ever, as long as you're paying attention and coordinating. Aether has its dramas but I think mostly everyone does their best to cooperate and ensure people get there. Its not perfect, but...it's alright. Even though I've missed quite a few, i'm making it to 3x as many s ranks in a week.

On the flip side I've also missed a lot due to certain notorious hunters. Those who set out to "early pull" and cause hunt drama have a bigger platform than ever. There's only so many s ranks one can pull (that, coincidentally, they didn't help spawn) before it becomes obviously griefing, and I wish SE would step up and notice this behavior and make adjustments.

The world visit system is starting to cause the same problems you would get on the WoW cross-realm zone system in a way. You get people that harass others.

It's a bit worse here because you can't report someone as easily because you don't know what server they are from or anything. It leaves the door open to harass people like no other.

It's only going to get worse.

You can always check their search info or start sending them a tell to see what world they're hailing from

There are no early pulls; only late arrivals.

There's at least 1 Discord specific to Crystal and another that covers all DCs; gotta join those for now until SE can bring linkshells out of the dark ages and make them useful for hunting again.

Thing is, the majority is not the majority anymore. At least not in the way you're talking about. One server of people vs all the other servers in the data center is by no means a majority.

Yes it is. And the reasoning you stated here is why. Maybe it isn't a "rule" or maybe it hasn't been made a rule because of the hope that people will cooperate with each other, you know, like adults instead of arguing amongst themselves about the fact that "too bad I CAN..no one said I CAN'T" as if they need rules to function instead of governing themselves (rules are babysitters, made for those who can't function on their own). Of course those who love the turmoil they cause will revel in it, it always brings those out. Those who ask for cooperation will be admonished and ridiculed for it because "we CAN..." as always.

how about if you have wanderer status you can't engage hunts until someone from that server has pulled the hunt already?

Yes, you are correct that he left and nearly all the same people that started that mess are involved in the cross world hunts now.

I agree it is a major issue. But let’s not blame “culture” as the primary enemy here. Hunts just aren’t designed for cross world play, it breaks the system, the problems will exist whether “western” or “eastern” culture.

I wouldn't say it's an issue of Cross world visit. It's an issue that will arise with high population regardless if World visit existed or not. What those on low population servers see now and consider a problem was already regularly happening on high populated ones.

Does more than just ruin hunts. Also makes it where have to queue to login to your server. Because it's filled up with ones from other servers. Before world visit could login instantly now have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to login to my world. They just need to add a database world wide market board and quit letting one's visit other servers.

You make it sound like there were no problems like this before world visit. People are level 80 with savage gear. They can spawn and solo S ranks and fire at will against even Stormblood A ranks unless there's particularly annoying mechanics like getting eaten or the one Yanxia one that spins. Lazy people will be lazy. I look out for S rank call outs and hurryhurryhurry to get my credit and go right back to idling and looking at discord.

I think at this point the thing I'd like most is for the hunt scholars to note whether or not a S rank is available to spawn because the public spawn notifications make accidental spawns much more prone to getting picked off by randoms who won't mark the time of death anywhere, which tends to lead to it getting picked off again as then nobody has any idea when it'll actually show up next.
