Good stuff there, most I think we already know, but it's good to hear news about the game from other outlets. Enjoy!

Haha thanks, my forums skills are amateurish at best...
not that worthless ass site again....
Really dissapointed with how tame and boring the questions are. Just spent 3 minutes reading basically nothing.
I like hearing about the estates even if we already knew. Reassuring that its going to be pretty awesome.
Thank you for the link. Nice tips.
Even although we already knew most of this there is some new info in there...it is nice for others to read who don't play the game or keep a very close watch on it. Most people who don't play seem to have the idea that this game is horrendous...so maybe it open their eyes a little =P
Good interview Naoki has slept 3 hours a week at most lmao. Much props the man is dedicated and once all his hard work is done and xiv is stable and saved he needs to run for president of Japan lmao. I married a Japanese I can vote right?
They sure asked some boring questions.
Would you rather it be:
Question 1: What is Crystal Tower going to be like?
Answer: copy/paste the text in the 2.0 roadmap
Question 2: When is Red Mage going to come?
Answer: no idealol
Question 3: When is Ishgard opening?
Answer: 2.0... (3.0 reallylol)
Question 4: Yoshida, do you really smoke 4 packs a day and live on coffee?
Answer: yalol, I know the hospital staff rly well
Kinda surprised they even interviewed him. That community over there doesn't seem to have much love for this game.
Lmao yoshida redmage answer. They decided to be nice for site traffic in the end it's business. Shit talking will commence again.
I enjoyed this interview myself. While not earth shattering information there are a couple things in it.
Content will ramp up in patches post 1.21.
Drastic UI changes will be shown off soon from 2.0. E3 maybe?
Yoshida is my virtual hero, really.
But uh, he should try e-cigs. :D
I'm pretty sure Naoki smokes Winston's... And in Japan cigarettes make you strong! Lol if you've never been to Japan Winston is in front of all the marts. http://www.bitterwallet.com/wp-conte...ston-japan.jpg http://www.kirainet.com/images/2011/winston.jpeg
Mostly information we know, but I am glad to hear how Yoshida is approaching the restoration of the game.
I actually really enjoyed this interview. We know most of it, sure, but in the time we're waiting for patch stuff it's nice to be reminded about what's coming around the corner as well. I'm really excited that Yoshida said he'll be showing off the UI soon. I'd say it would be at E3, like Holy said, but that's still a few months off so I honestly hope they show it to us beforehand xD I'm excited to see what their E3 presentation is going to be like. I'm hoping for look at the new revamped world, as well as see some combat in the new graphics engine.
Good interview IMO, it seems he has some stuff planned soon for the reveal of the 2.0 UI, I look forward to seeing that for sure.
Mouse and keyboard all the way !
Thanks for the link Mishakai.
Yah, even though the Interview may seem "tame" and lacking in juicy new information for currently active players, for the vast majority of the gaming population that *aren't* playing Final Fantasy XIV, this is more positive press and information about the changes to the badly launched game.
It *is* good that Yoshida-san mentions the Job System and the launch of the 7 Classic Jobs (although I do wish he would've explicitly stated the 7 Jobs for the Interview to tell everyone (e.g., "Yes, we'll be bringing back Paladin, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage, Dragoon, Warrior, Bard!")).
It's good that he mentions that they're pretty close to the full revamp of the Combat System (and mentioned Self Combos), and that players can get Player Estates (with their Free Company) and make their own Ships and Airships and Garden (very cool!). :)
I know if I was a gamer that wasn't playing this game (which is a large percentage of the gaming population), this is good news and stuff that is worth getting out there.
Sure some of this was mentioned in previous interviews, but the more venues / outlets that this information gets out to, the better.
"Change is coming. Big things are coming / Final Fantasy XIV is revamping, and they've just completed all the new Combat System changes and have 7 New Jobs, etc."
Of course I'd love to get juicy information on stuff we, the dedicated, haven't heard about yet. But I'm hoping that'll come in due time. ;)
What I found interesting is how he said new players view the job system as a fork in progression akin to a skill tree, and experienced players view it as a strategic option to take on content.
