When everyone is the party does well and you can only commend one person.

Feels bad cause you know someone put in a ton of effort and walked away with no little commendations. What are people's opinions on the commendation system?

Personally I would like to be able to commend potentially everyone who I believe actually did well.

Everyone doing their job should be expected.

I commend the funniest person. Sometimes that's someone making a joke, sometimes that's the dragoon walking off the side.

I kinda of agree.
It's unfair to be a perfect DPS and the healer always getting the commends. Everybody that tested duty with tank, healer and DPS knows that.

Being able to commend everyone who did well is a better option.

Or at least a max of 3 commends, 1 maxed to each role. That way we can commends everyone in 4man duty, or no one, and 1 commend to each role in 8man duty.

There are times when I want to commend everyone and times where I leave without commending anyone.

If everyone did equally well the tie-breaker is usually whoever has a lore-compliant name, or is elezen.

It might be nice to have a one-per-week "Commend Team" option so that commendations don't become cheap and meaningless, but if a whole team is outstanding you can recognize that.

Maybe you get an extra commend for each dungeon you do that week (resets weekly)? If they make it so you can commend everyone though the system I think will turn more feel bad, because it means they just didn't think you were worth it if you didn't get one lol (right now you can be like "probably went to the tank/healer").

Just tell everyone you wish you can give them all comms. That goes a lot further than an anonymous one with a reason that could entail their race, glamour option, name, pity, actual performance, among other reasons. Plus, you don't have to wait for the instance to be over and hope they actually stick around.

In such situations I usually just commend whichever character is the best looking.

I must agree with this. I often get 4+ commendations even when I know a had a terrible run and could have played a lot better. I don't think "awesome, I got all these commendations!" I just wonder why I got them when I feel I was undeserving of them.

Commendations mean little to me. Words have a lot more meaning.

I'd honestly love a once-per-week 'comm everyone' option, just for these situations.

I feel system is good as it is. If you don't care about commends at all, you can simply leave as soon as duty over. And if person you want to commend leaves before you can do it - why should you feel bad about it? Also, it's free criteria. I mostly commend lalas above all else. And no, I con't care about fairness.

Depends on what role I'm on:

Tank = Healer
Healer = Tank
DPS = my co-DPS

I hug them and dance and stuff when I can't commend everyone but think they did well. I do my best to make sure everyone knows I'm grateful for them. Sometimes I commend the one I think has the fewest commends (usually a DPS or a sprout). Something like that. c:

Nope never feel bad. The game set it like that. So why should I feel bad I give it to the only person left after I finish loading after a cs or w/e.

I wish I could do a disapproval ..
For that tank in 380 gear that pulls 2 mobs at a time,
or that Ast that keeps group boling etc

I literally never know when I get any commendations. Whatever chat log setting they're on, it's not on my main chat window. And I generally never see any reason to know or care. I expect everyone else is in the same rush to just get done and get out, and likely isn't putting all that much thought into the decision.

There are times I want to comm people in another alliance too. To that one RDM that kept raising us because both our healers were SMN disguised as SCH, I'll never forget you.
