the first Aether Data Center stress test

I hope they learned from this. The fact the fate was over before many who were in the zone even saw it pop let alone the traffic jam that was at the zone line from the peaks better have given them some worthwhile info. Along with trying to find somewhere to teleport into so you could join the traffic jam.

So basically it told them what they should have already known and what we have known for years: their servers are crap.

They'll never be able to get literally everyone in a zone, that's just not possible. What it likely told them however, was that their servers could handle a lot of people dog piling onto a server without the cross-world feature breaking or the server crashing.

The purpose of the test was never about the FATE, it was about how the Data Centers and Servers would handle massive amounts of people all switching servers and zones at once.

They've already known how zones handle massive amounts of people due to Hunts when they were first added.

Primal stress test also happened recently in Exodus, and I saw that a GM was around even before Ixion spawned. I think he was there to see how well the servers can handle so many people at once, especially when Ixion fate is up.

It's amazing to me how little people understand why the stress test is even happening. Like someone said, it was never about the FATE lol. So yes, they got the information they wanted. Next time they'll probably open the server up to even more people and test it again.

I queued for the fate at 3:39pm my time.
Got on to Exodus server at 4:09pm.

Home world priority also seems to be a lie, judging by the 10minute queues to my own server during hunts.

TLDR: if you're not in the right place when the 5.0 Ixion equivalent spawns, you ain't getting to it.

We're doing it right now in Crystal. 10 minutes in and I'm still on Balmung due to the queue.

People trying to get into the Loch's because it's congested. Inadvertently congesting the Peaks.

There were some people on Adamantoise who didn't seem to know what was going on and why they were being mobbed. It was kinda funny if you re-logged in cause you could end up frozen and with only your health bar showing up, but reading that you were dead for a bit before popping you back to normal. Also I think Gilgamesh for a while for Aether since world visit has worked as it's own stress test as it's crashed a few times. This one just worked better.

so we broke their system, good. this will give them the data they need on what would happen far ahead of release if a good portion of an ENTIRE DATA CENTER flooded one server, and if something does crash thats even better cause that tells them where the breaking points are

the data center didnt crash, the server didnt burst into flames, they now have data for making that home world priority better, the transfer service queue didnt break and let in far more people than the game could handle, the instance server hasnt crumbled under the weight of EVERYBODY doing gates. id call that a win for the stability of their servers, and with more tests they can fine tune what needs improvement before july
