The invisible land timer that is one of the worst mechanics I have ever experienced.
I transferred due to the data center changes- thanks a lot on that one- and left behind a medium house. I am now completely without a house because I cannot devote 24/7 to sitting in front of an estate and hoping to God that I am lucky enough to click on it at just the right time.
I tried to be prepared for this move. I moved an alt over and leveled her up and bought a house. No big deal right? I should be happy EXCEPT THAT I CANNOT ADD MYSELF TO MY FRIENDS LIST SO I CAN'T SHARE MY OWN HOUSE WITH MYSELF.
I don't know why you don't have more wards. I don't know why you didn't think to suspend this mechanic for transfers. I don't know why I can't send a friend request to an offline character. I don't know why you had to put Diabolos on a crappy data center.
I have unsubbed my two accounts. Thanks for ruinging everything.

I'm sorry to hear and see you go. Though if the house was that important, perhaps a server transfer wasn't the right move... despite servers being moved around the game doesn't quite change, people will be doing content no matter what..

Its just a little over 2 months till the shadow bringers expansion, let's hope for the best that amidst the silence of SE on the housing concern, a better solution is being prepared.

Same thing happened to me too now. I changed servers and no chance of getting a house. The timer was a very bad idea imo. People camp am empty plot and either an FC comes and snaps it or a bot. Between my fiance and I we left 2 houses in the old server and within seconds (i was on discord with a friend who wanted one, they were both gone as they blew up, and by private buyers, not FC. How is that possible?
And on our new home server o was watching a plot for the timer, an FC snapped it, i went into expert, and as I finish and pop at that plot, it was suddenly owned by a private? -

I like and hate the timer. Timer means less flipping, but at the same time people can still afk bot. Lessening the timer to 6-8 max hours would help. Or at least stop the 30 hour camps where players refuse to eat or sleep because there aren't enough houses to go around. And even still, many are just nabbing that ugly Small to be able to go to reddit, spend 150m for a Large to instantly transfer.
And Larges are scarce enough as is so "just transfer : ^)" is not a simple fix. In fact, I brought up a possible solution for that here:

One of my friends had a mental breakdown after spending days with the stupid placards and losing over again against bots, SE don't care about the situation, the "we are listening" and "we are looking into it" is just a standart industry for "we don't care enough to fix it" or "that will cost money and we hate to spend money".
Every other game in the market who have a housing system does it better, even Wildstar understood it better. -

I for one hopes for a lasting solution but for now all we can do is suggest and wait. While it is probably true that the devs try as much as they can to provide content, in this context housing content while minimizing cost, this is probably because there are other aspects of the game that need financial resources. That being said, i believe that the devs are truly aware about the condition of the housing aspect of the game and are working on solving it. I'm very excited with the upcoming expansion as well as the patches that follow because if there are big changes to the game a new expansion is definitely the best way to implement those changes. :)
