Am I the only crafter that enjoys world visit system?

I think it’s fun, it’s about time things started to become regulated price-wise. I would rather have to craft hundreds of gear for smaller profit and have it sell nonstop than craft 40 pieces of gear and have only 5 of it sell at 2 million a piece over the course of 5 days.

I think Square Enix did this to reward hardcore crafters for being hardcore, and reward not-so-hardcore crafters and/or greedy crafters the way they should be rewarded.

This is just my opinion, no fighting please. I won’t respond to negativity :P

It's nice if you're lucky enough to be on a server that lacks bot farmers.

I don't care about selling at low prices as long as my competition is legitimate (But it usually isn't).

Itll even out in a few weeks and I dont need to sell stuff right this second so Ill see how I feel then

I think it would had been better if they just implemented a Data Center Wide Marketboard xD. At the moment, a lot of ppl just go to Balmung to check for a cheaper price so supply is going down fast xD.

Tbh this has put me off crafting a bit. Want to sell an item? Better hop to every single server to see what the prices are, and periodically check every server for undercutters.

I've actually liked it thus far and met some cool people. It's also nice to see some of my things on the MB sell for a change.

I like it as it's easy to buy things that aren't super expensive and I don't craft so I don't really sell much anyways.
My crafter friend hates it though for reasons, "he has to check the mb on every server now to make sure it's accurate. price wise."

Giving it a few weeks to see how the market responds.

Crystal prices on the several hundred things I price compared today arent vastly different, but there was a LOT of server hopping to even process out.

I predicted since November that prices will naturally equilibrium to slightly higher than the datacenter mean (I've made a lot of virtual currency doing this kind of speculating across multiple mmos, doing it in EQ put me through school), and they have on day 1, but it's going to take time to settle.

It shouldn't take too long for prices to naturally adjust to be similar even without checking every other server.

I think its nice if you want to buy an expensive item like a minion or / and mount and check if you can find it somewhere cheaper, but personally I wont server hop to check other Worlds MB prices to sell x item.

i cant follow you, you know that every server has a different economy and it doesn't matter what prices are on other servers? regulated by whom? they are not regulated and world visit isnt going to regulate them. there is no authority to regulate them.
you can still craft hundreds of gear for smaller profit if you choose so, no one is telling you to craft 5 and sell for 2 million a piece.

SE did this (imo) so you are not inconvenience to go back to your server to buy potions/food or what ever u need and continue playing with whom ever you play on the server you are visiting. not to reward anyone.its just a side effect of their decision, or maybe not fully throught out thing, to allow buying,but not selling on the visited server.

This is also the major reason for me to not like it. Someone who crafts a lot and usually has a lot of things on MB, can now spend almost their entire time server hopping to check/untercut prices. This new system is very flawed in this aspect and again, is just another band aid fix. Not like the game doesnt already got enough band aids. The proper way would have been a shared marketboard across the whole datacentre. But unfortunately the devs prefer to stick to their band aid politic.

Not at all.
I will finally be able to buy some ingredients at reasonable prices and craft myself some objects like the Flying Chair.
And Mogboard helps a lot! : D
By cons I do not try to make gils, I just love the craft, and I strongly tend to give what I do: D

It's the best thing to happen to the Marketplace economy in years.

Usually we'd have to wait for big patch days or actual Expansions to have healthy economy trade movement.

Sure it's going to take some extra work with pricing, but i can see some people using this as an opportunity to create some API's that monitor and report prices throughout datacenter markets

Ew, call me old fashioned, but I liked not having to alt-tab or whip out my phone to check marketboard prices.

I mean.... I don't mind it. I think people are over reacting on some fronts. Who really is going to go to every server to check prices all the time? I'm certainly not. If the item is already decently priced, I'm not going to scout out the best deal. If it's a very high ticket, expensive item? Yeah, maybe. But checking all worlds means you might just miss out in the end anyway because someone else bought it first while you were hopping around.

And I'm definitely not going to check each server every time I want to price something. I might check a universal board (unless those are somehow TOS then, uh.... I won't.... > o > ) but unless it's a super expensive item, there's just not enough reason to.

My only concern is bots, really. I think it makes it a lot easier for them to move cash around and do as they please. That being said, I was on a super small server, which was nice I GUESS for me as an omnicrafter but my god did it suck if I ever needed to buy something or heaven forbid I was feeling lazy and didn't want to make/gather it myself. I'd rather prices drop tbh but we'll see how it goes. But it is a bit of a mess. Shame they couldn't make it one board per DC...

The other annoyance is that everything is being bought out and resold for ridiculous prices atm. Time will tell how this settles but who knows.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they did and it was infact what they wanted to do but there were technical issues with it. This is either a compromise or a mid-way point while they sort out the issues.

Now on topic, I am a little perplexed by people upset that it will standardize prices while at the same time also being upset that they have check the MB on multiple servers.

If prices are going to be standardized, then... all servers will be near the same price negating the need to look at any server other than your own.
