I really, really want to know what the taboo is with making existing character outfits dyeable. For the price these sell on the Mog Station, there really isn't any excuse.

would have to rework it to be dyable on re-release or make it dyable when its made for character
not so much taboo just extra work they dont do

i agree though character gear should be dyable

Still not an excuse. A dye mask for a simple, single color gown with very few extraneous details like this isn't difficult at all.

I get it, really I do. But for the price offered they honestly should put that extra work in. Then again since a good portion of the playerbase is clearly willing to put money down on undyeable items at cost, they don't really have much incentive to do so.

I doubt there is very much work to making the item dyeable. I think it's has more to do with keeping the iconic feel of the outfit worn by that particular NPC in game. Would it be nice, yes, but I don't think they want it to look different. I'm sure they'd sell a lot more of them. For me it's the locking to one character that I find terrible and simply pass up a lot of the stuff because of it.

Oh, it's a shame it can't be dyed. I actually quite like this dress (I'm surprising me with that!). Perhaps I can figure out a way to make it work with my usual palette and style.

EDIT: Have just looked at it on Mog Station - didn't realise it was a top and skirt thing. It would've been better as shift dress rather than a combo, but the top is still usable (I don't do short skirts with the current options available). More to chew on as I'm not sure I want to pay out full price for using only half the outfit.

I don't understand them releasing the outfits lately but not having the hairstyles with them

We already have clippy long hairstyles, it's no longer an excuse if we don't get them because of the clipping issue

If item can't be dyed then I don't buy it. If they want me to buy item off mogstation for price they have it better be able to dye it. Otherwise it's not worth getting.
