FF XIV down figure I share my story

Good Morning everyone,

I had some extra free time this morning and wanted to share my experiences in the game for the last 6 months.

Long story short I am a WoW refugee. I played for over 10 years and with the recent expansion, I thought it was best to move on from the game.

I'm about 6 months into the game and I have to say this its been a great experience. The amount of content compared to WoW isn't even comparable in my opinion. FF V was my very first RPG i ever played and seeing him (exdeath) as a raid/trial brought back alot of memories. I also remember trying to cast a phoenix down on the phantom train the first time i did that raid.

The community is great. I go from a game where no one really talks to anyone where people go out of their way to help others which in fact encourages me to help others. One of the things I like to do is hang out in New Gridania and hand out gil to new players.

Anyways just wanted to thank everyone and the developers for making an amazing community and game. I've met some great people in this game and I can't wait for the new expansion :-)

Welcome. :) While I still play WoW from time to time, FFXIV has been my main "go to" for several years. I am glad you are enjoying yourself! :)

3 month BfA refugee here, and I agree completely. Some things could use improvement, but I'll stick around anyway :)
(Popped back into WoW PTR to check out the new zone(s). They give no clue as how to get to the new content, so I gave up on it pretty quickly.)

I always found the community in this game is way better than WoW. I don't know if its less kids playing, but its been pleasant. I've been away from this game for a year. Trying to get ready for shadowbringers. I might have to buy a potion skip.

I just returned to the game from a long hiatus playing multiple other games like World of Warcraft as well. I played 1.0 and most of Heavensward then left for several years during Stormblood. Getting caught up now and I am taken aback by everyone being is so friendly here. While you might get someone negative once in a while, for the most part, people are helpful and fun here. Definitely a breath of fresh air.

PS: I've never played WoW so I don't know why there are so many WoW refugees for the past months, but I'm glad that more people decided to give FFXIV a try. I'm sure that both games can be enjoyable in their own way.

Glad you're enjoying the FFXIV experience so far! While the game does have it's quirks, and the forums have a tendency to exaggerate these quirks, overall I still love the game after playing for around a year and three quarters. FFXIV is my first and only MMO I've played, and I'm glad I decided to cast off my apprehension towards MMOs to be a part of this experience, for all its highs and lows throughout my time playing.
