Suggestion: Kingdom Hearts crossover event

How awesome would it be to battle alongside sora and his gang to fight heartless in ffxiv and to yield a keyblade. who all agrees?

something like this would already had to have been in the works. KHIII is already out and the crossover with XV was known to be a fact very early on, just implemented late in the lifecycle. There's no reason to have one.

I would love a KH crossover event and a Dr. Who crossover event would be fantastic!

If we can go back in time to before any sequels happened for Kingdom Hearts then sure...

Also... If Di$ney hadn't become so darn greedy as of the past few years...

Wouldn't they need to get Disney's permission or something? Pretty sure Disney own just about everything in the KH games (Sora, Riku, etc), minus the FF characters.

KH3 definitely wasn’t as good as KH2FM. I haven’t touched KH3 again after beating it...very disappointing game. So I really doubt that will happen, op

I'm not sure if we can get a KH collab depending on how involved Disney is.

But with Nomura helping with character and enemy design for the Eden raid, I can see some other callab from Nomura's other works. I think The World Ends with You might be getting a sequel

I would like more Eureka than a collab with Kingdom Disappoitearts 3.

They probably could not have any Disney characters. It would be cool to see the KH versions of FF characters show up. I would rather have the original KH Cloud outfit than the AC one we got.

Given how simple the crossover events are story wise there probably wouldnt be much resistance to it did get seriously considered, the problem is they probably need to get both companies to consider it.

Considering how most FF content was excluded from KH3, at this point, why? It's practically just a Disney game that Squenix developed.

It'd be ironic, given the complete absence of Final Fantasy characters in KH3.

Lol right back at ya bud. It doesnt take a genius to see that KHs plethora of sequels/prequels has made the series overly complex in narrative and downright stale. 5mil copies sold, sure. Fanboys/girls buy anything lol. Just a shell of something that used to be amazing.

After the lack of FF characters in KH3 and how disappointing it was overall, I'll say no.

If it's an event like yokai watch where we can get all sorts of keyblades, minions, and maybe some keyblade armor, outfits and hairstyles like Aqua, Terra, and Ven have~ then yes I'd like this to happen.

Truth be told I'm in the same mindset as a lot of people now in spite of the fact that I was one of the people who made a topic on this same thing awhile back--- i love kingdom hearts, but something about kingdom hearts 3 just didn't really catch my interest even though most everything that i was hoping would happen did so during the storyline (maybe it was the obvious executive meddling during the Frozen world for a start)

A huge kingdom hearts event would be pretty easy to do in this game, I mean honestly.. the paragons and voidsent could be replaced by the organization and heartless without basically anything changing and our intro into 2.0 is literally the into to kingdom hearts just without the theme song playing

We could all very easily get a keyblade and smack around heartless and it would make perfect sense.

and given that there is world travel in kingdom hearts already you have an easy way of explaining how characters would get to Eorzea already

I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of this ever happening based on silly things like Kingdom Hearts being a "failure" or it being "too late" when FFXV is only just now getting an event in spite of having been out /much/ longer and some people strangely considering that game a failure

As much as I love Sora, Riku and Kairi, I don't know if I would like a crossover like that. The quest would probably be cute, but I'm not a fan of Nomura's design. It is the type of thing that only works on Kingdom Hearts universe, and it is tacky af on everything else. I would rather have a crossover with another FF or even another SE title.
Don't get me wrong. I like KH. I just thing that there are things that would work better on FFXIV.

Funny thing to say when we got XV.

Doubt it would work, IP being one issue for starters but also it seems thematically too off to apply to FFXIV. At least with the XI XIII and XV crossovers they're from direct predecessors and sequel. True we have a Nier instance coming but all of that is under SE's control. that and they'll probably give Yoko Taro his own bloody shard of all things just so we can experience the "darkest timeline" all over again!

That's because the creators/people who own the rights to the franchise allowed it. So for a KH cross over to happen, SE would need Disney's permission.

Whether we get a KH event or not, Nomura's designs are going to be the focus of the new raid coming up in 5.0 either way.

KH3 has stripped like 99% of the final fantasy universe out of the game anyway, feels safe to say Disney don't really want to work with FF characters anymore and just the games original cast + disney cast.

I doubt they'd greenlight a xover event, maybe during the KH2 era.

I don't recall a XV crossover being confirmed until very recently. I recall interviews saying if they were to do it they wanted to do it right, and not just because it's in time with XV, but not much beyond that. There were lots of fan desires for it, but after a few months of it not happening it got quashed with much the same reasoning you're using to say we'll never get a KH3 crossover.

This is pretty much why they didn't have a cross-over event. These events are advertisements, and KH3 didn't need it.

I was thinking the same thing. The main thing I'd like would for sure be Keyblade weapons in FFXIV or a Gummy Block moun. XD Though I also was thinking that as they were thinking of doing DLC for KH3, they could do a DLC world, that was Eorzea. In regards to the FFXIV part of the event, we could be dealing with an infestation of Heartless in Eorzea.

^^This. It's something that's been bothering ever since I played KH3. Nomura even made a statement about it that kind of rubbed me the wrong way:
"When you look back on the first Kingdom Hearts, Sora was still a new character, so we kind of had the Final Fantasy characters as supporting characters," Nomura says. "But now that it's been 15 years, the original characters are more polished than they were before, so I don't think think they need the Final Fantasy characters help as much as they did before. [...] Also, when we first released Kingdom Hearts, there weren't that many other titles that brought together the Final Fantasy characters. I actually think that Kingdom Hearts may have been the first to do that. But nowadays, there are an abundance of titles that do that, so I don't see the value of having that kind of feature in the game anymore.

It's something I've alwaysthought about since SE began just plastering the FF name on games that aren't even truly FF games which to me is why the FF name has been somewhat tarnished over the years. SE is at the point where they know anything with FF in the title will sell. Hell, I was guilty of doing this when KH came out...I personally dislike a lot of Disney franchies and and only played KH because I thought the idea of having Cloud and Squall in the same game was cool. Now, it just seems like Nomura used FF, made a name for himself and the KH franchise and said GTFO, you're no longer useful.

Sorry for the off topic rant...but KH has no place here. It doesn't want/need FF anymore. FF shouldn't want anything to do with KH in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of most of the character/outfit designs in Kingdom Hearts and don't personally care for the Disney elements, so I wouldn't be interested in this.
