Rewards for omni-crafters needed

I'm not an Omni-Crafter yet. I'm working on it. I'm getting there.

I had an idea though... I would love to see a new airship mount that is untradable and market prohibited that can only be made by being a max level Omni-Crafter.

Sort of the like Mana-Cutter, but of a different style. Something very unique. All of the components for such a ship would obviously require a different crafting job with each one being represented (except perhaps Culinarian unless you need to pack a lunch, I guess) and each component would also be untradable and market-prohibited.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Would be fun if materials where kept reasonable.

Don't they already get rewarded when us plebs toss hundreds of thousands and millions of gil their way for their stuff because we don't have the patience to level our own crafter gatherers?

Dont get me wrong, i like your money. Im not done decorating my house afterall. But i dont hate the idea of there being a few untradable recipe type things we could make for ourselves as a reward. Special mount? My collection isnt nearly big enough. You might have to make the recipe a quest reward rather then just something on the normal item list(not that i imagine too many people interested in making this sort of thing would stop just because a quest stood in the way).

I would love to see a type of reward that makes sense for maxing out each DoL and DoH jobs.

Like maybe a specific mount for each as it'll actually be a fun reward past the money.

Though as an omnicrafter the best reward I can have is repairing my own gear whenever I want, even in an instance. Nothing beats that.

Yeah, I'm not sure that Omni-Crafters need an additional reward.

Not when they can already:

* Make every item in the game.

* Repair all their gear whenever they want.

* Meld all of their gear.

* Access all cross-class actions.

* Play the market by switching their crafts to whatever is selling the best at the time.

If anything, there should be more rewards for mono-crafting to make it more appealing >.>

I wouldn't mind seeing some cool things that you have to build towards with all crafting jobs.

I also wouldn't mind if DoL and DoH classes got some cool things at max level (As opposed to just some lacklustre trait and the ability to earn yellow scrips >.>). Mounts could be neat.

Also, would be cool to get "Relic" tools like the old Lucis stuff again. So you reach the best gathering/crafting stats by actually gathering/crafting on the class, as opposed to just crafting/buying gear and penta-melding it.

Yeah, there should be some end-game goal for crafters beyond just gearing. Doesnt have to be a mount or cosmetic, just something. Id be ok with a plaque for each of the crafters that 'upgrades' through the expansion that just looks nice in your house/appartment.

Being able to craft anything in the game that is craftable, and always being able to repair your own gear - that is kind of its own reward in my view.
There isn't really any need for anything extra for omnicrafters.

"Virtue is its own reward."

So is omnicrafting.

They should just add this as an achievement and the above or equivalent could be the title next to your name.

Right there with you. Just got to lvl 50 with all the crafters and gatherers. Did it the right way too. Crafted all my gear for all my classes staying up to date the whole time and melding. Was fun but really wish there was something to commentate it.

We can say the reward is being a crafter, but who knows without examining me? Who can understand my struggle without a shiny/flying beacon?

I think Omni-Crafters at least should get a mount.

There is no reward for being an omnicrafter, no.

But, there are rewards for being a crafter. And, a gatherer. Simply make (or gather) everything once. Fill out all those check marks in the logs that have them. You’ll get achievement rings for ARR near completion, and special tools for HW and SB near completion. We are not at the point yet that those achievements are available for ShB yet, but if history is any guide, they are coming.

That being said, the only reward for hitting max level in combat jobs is an achievement, that usually comes with a crown, but at 80 comes with a mount. Being a max level omnicrafter gets an achievement, which comes with a title. So, you can have said title on full time, where the combat jobs you have to either have the crown as part of your glamour (and hope someone notices) or be riding the mount; DoH/DoL classes can be on display full time.

Who would care even if they did know? Nobody. This is true for all other accomplishments in the game as well - apart from close friends, nobody will ever care about what you have achieved in the game.

This is the best idea. All those good looking crafter class specific glamor and we’ve only got 10 plates.

And agreed, its not something completely exclusive.

Only sort of. The game has spent the past few years trying to make single classing easier. Half the SB skills were just native versions of cross-class skills.

that's also because they didn't want to have to add any more slots for cross class skills either.
