Magi/combos and healers

So three things honestly need to be said and ppl are avoiding it i guess... but first combos should be for all jobs not just physical and combo fusion like pvp should be used open world etc.


First in pvp u got 1 hotbar slot with 3 abilitys in it this combo1-2 should be allowed to use outside pvp for most jobs.. Thats just a simple way 2 fix this to many ability nonsense.

Second Combo/Combo effects for all

so Combos need to be used in all jobs that cause stacking effects for example

Fire all fire spells --each time casted in a target places a 1min burn token after four burn tokens on the target they suffer burns.

blizzard and other abilitys same thing but with a relevant effect to the spell castd.

this would also help whm four wind tokens would create wind bite stone etc this would make elements we use actually mean something.

Next summoner bio,ruin,miasem needs to be replaced after lvl 50 with primal commands they can still be dots or w,e but based on summon we have up.


next Rdm flare,holy needs to be removed/replaced with something that isn't the signature if whm,blm unless u plan to give whm,blm their stronger signatures outside limit break aka comet,meteor


finnaly if you think healers don't have identity your using them wrong

whm are the holy priest hood that is their identity as it should be

scholar- is the planner and plotter using strategy and pets to assist the party that is their identity as it is suppose to be.

Ast- we are the time users healing with time/space and using cards to give boost based on the stars that is our identity.

this regen,barrier nonsense is not how identity works.

Next: healers arebalanced your enemies just have no counters..

what do i mean give ur enemys a brain ... with abilitys 2 dispel regen,shields....

your groups will always work the same with good tanks and that is the proplem not the healers...

next remove vercure,and chemistery those two abilitys need extreme need or removed that would help healers balance 2 more often healing

I can't take you seriously if this is something you're actually going to say. A job's literal mechanic is its identity, WHM is a cardless AST, which makes it inherently worse for optimization, which is why so many people have issue with it.

Also, not every job needs a 1-2-3.

first that is no were near true ive seen over 90 ppl in the past 2 weeks maiming as whm.

not everyone is a elitest or caring about that nonsense...

in Rpgs the identity is a theme of the job its abilitys are meha at best


ppl play dragoon because they love dragon theme only..

i play ast cuz i love card captor sakura and time/space

ppl play what they love theme wise regardless of what ever nonsense


smn is op today but i will never play it do u know y..

because IT DOES NOT HAVE THE SUMMONER THEME..

its literaly just a trash version of wows warlock

Not hatin on jobs but wanted it to fix for you; AST is WHM with cards. Since uh... whm came first. So they got the first right of being original hehehehehehe

It's true that not every job needs a 123.

Though, it's an interesting concept to have the occasional 1-2 skill or something. Sort of like how RDM uses its dual cast to 12 into one of their long cast spells.

Could have different mechanics in some cases, such as having 2 hard cast spells in a row such as a BLM having like Fire IV > Fire V wherein both are hard cast spells but the first either enables the second, or merely enhances is (Sort of like when DRG uses Fang and Claw + Wheeling Strike with the trait that gives the second one 100 bonus potency)

But these such things should be used sparingly and should be justified by the gameplay it brings, rather than tacked on "Because melee has it"

They're not going to make elemental attacks matter again for the players. I also think you either forgot or don't understand red mage in that it was born from both blm and whm and thus why having versions of cure, holy, flare and raise are part of their kit. It's also been their thing since the first game where they can cast both black and white magic with sometimes it costing more but same strength or it costing the same but not the same strength.

Combos are very boring and any job with a non-priority rotation already has to hit their buttons in a certain order so there's not much difference except the game isn't telling you "THIS IS THE BUTTON YOU NEED TO HIT NOW BECAUSE REASONS"

rdm should have both white and black magic however ...IT SHOULD NOT HAVE THE SIGNATURES of the 2 jobs ...its only suppose to get the lesser blm,white magic not the ultimate moves

Theme and identity are completely different things. The healers have different themes, but they don’t have identities unique to each of them. Yoshida has even made statements that prove you wrong. White mage for example. Yoshida has said numerous times that whm’s identity is “pure healer”, hence only having heals/dps and absolutely no utility. People may try a job because of their theme, but they don’t keep playing that job if the gameplay sucks or is too monotonous. Hence the issues with the healers. They play too similarly. They don’t offer new or engaging gameplay. A fairy or cards do not make them different enough. Sch is the more unique of the 3, and Ast only has the cards to differentiate it from whm (gameplay wise). That’s not enough to keep people interested.

Sch is supposed to be the preventative healer, whm the pure healer, Ast is the combo of both but with buffs. They have identities, but not their own unique identities. This is a problem. This is why people say we don’t have identities. The way they look isn’t enough to keep people into the jobs. “This regen, barrier nonsense is not how identity works” wrong. Especially considering the devs have made comments that completely go against what you’re saying. You are completely confusing identity with theme.

No thanks on your combo fusion nonsense.

More dps viriaty when it comes to healer damage would be interesting.
