Random timer for plots

Hopefully this is the right place for this...
Can we PLEEEEAAAAASE shorten the maximum wait time for the timer. Maybe something like random availability between 40 min after relinquish to 3 hrs and after that the plot is completely accessible. I've seen someone gave up on sleep and waited 23 hrs for a plot.

All I saw were bunch of zombies kept clicking the placards the whole day.

I just gave up after 7+ hours of waiting.
The timer is way too long.

Having it be a set time that is visible still gives people a fair chance to gather around the placard and be able to have a shot at buying the plot.
The current system is ridiculous.

current system is there to prevent instant house flipping. if people knew when the timer was going to be up they would just plan to demolish at a certain time to ensure that no one else would interfere and then the same old problem would be back.

But when the timer keeps being random and just been shown on the placard their is no way they can handle it like you suggest.

Camped infront of a medium house for 30-ish minutes, thought, 'oh well, I can do my laundry, won't go away in 5 min' welp, what do you know ? :D

To be honest I was just a tad disappointed. Got a small house instead and it's alright :)

oh i see what you mean i was thinking for some reason it would be visible to the person who demolishes so that they could arrange a transaction =p yeah even if it was shown it would come down to whoever was the better clicker.

I waited 23 hrs for a small, with other 11 ppl. On Gilgamesh btw

I have been trying to get a plot for months. Sometimes sacrificing my entire day off to literally just clicking the placard. the shortest amount of time waiting was 7 hours. the longest, 22. Hours. Doing Nothing but clicking placards. only to lose it to relocation or a random walk up that just happened to click at the exactly perfect moment. It has been so frustrating.

I understand the feeling, trust me

the RNG timer on plot is a poor system, but at least it is better than the old one
I just do not understand when we already have cactpot, why cant dev implement similar draw system for buying plot

because then people would complain that having to win a lottery to get a plot would also be unfair. =p

Fact is. We all pay a subscription based game. We shouldn't need to invest 24hr+ to camp a housing plot, just so someone else can get it because whoever was more lucky. We spend tons and tons of hours for literally nothing. We pay for 30 days, so to even just waste 1 day of nonsense clicking and camping is a waste of money imo. I dont mind the timer BUT I totally agree on shortening it. Like a 30 mins to 3 hours or so.

The timer is waaaaay too long.. It can still be “random” but for less time please.

RNG timer is worse than lottery
if the timer is to stay, it really should shorten the RNG range
Just camping there doing nothing, isn't really a good way of solving this issue

Wouldn't it be better for SE to just look at a Subscriber's profile, see that they have numerous houses and take all but 2 of them back to be sold to other players? Refund them the full worth of the houses taken from them and obviously return all their housing items, but seriously balance out that horrible goddamn market. It is too close to real life and that fucking hurts...

I say 2 for the idea of having a house for your main character and another for an FC or something like that.

Is that hard or unreasonable? Or has this already been done? I truly don't know.

Main reason for wanting a house is a garden plot for Chocobo dyes and the Onions as mine is almost at level 10, still boring yellow and I only have one Onion from a quest.

Right now, players are supposed to be limited to one private house and one FC house per server outside of those few players grandfathered in before the current rules went into effect.

There aren't that many players who are grandfathered in to have multiple houses on the same server. The number of houses freed up by taking them away from the grandfathered players wouldn't come close to meeting demand.

They're also going to be very reluctant to take away houses that were legitimately obtained. That starts getting players worried about "what will they start taking away from us next".

Taking houses away or creating more wards are not sensible long term solutions. They're flimsy bandaids at best.

SE need to create a more comprehensive instanced housing system than apartments currently offer since instanced housing can be easily expanded as demand increases unlike wards. A simple first step would be to give players the choice of interiors for apartments that match the interiors we get with houses. It shouldn't require anything that doesn't already exist in game outside of the interface to select a size (insert "PS3" joke meme here?). From there they could work on expanding function to include intercross gardening in the instanced housing and set up FC workshop access for FCs. It could be the gardening won't even be needed depending on what they have in mind for the player run farms they've mentioned are coming next expansion.

As for the various chocobo foods, you can still grow those things in flower pots in apartments and FC rooms though you're more limited on how much you can grow at a time. The only thing you can't do is intercross gardening to get the rarer seeds. You can still use Shroud and La Noscean topsoils to increase quantity/quality with the same success as a normal garden plot.
