It gets pretty dark at night sometimes. It'd be pretty nice to have a lantern feature to stave off the dark or just set the mood. It's one simple core adventurer's tool that seems to be missing from the game.

It only needs to be a personal light, we don't need to see other peoples' lights.
It could also lend to some interesting dungeon ideas.

There's already a lantern. You can get the minion from wolf marks and it will follow you around.

We have the Sun and Moon minons too, wich actually add light, but they are fixed and will not follow you around.
I think a rework / reskin of the lantern minion would be nice, so it actually can work as a light source. -

I would welcome a feature like this. I like dramatic settings, and it gets way too dark sometimes. When I travel through darkness like that I always think, "My character must be a real idiot to go out adventuring in the nighttime without a light."
Also that minion is not real lantern. It's weak af. -

I love the nighttime.... but I think a lantern would make it even better. A counterpoint to the darkness.... making the dark even more.... dark by comparison. I approve of the idea.

There are also the two minions that only exist to give you better light for taking screenshots - the wind-up-sun and the wind-up-moon (you can get both from the hidden magic pot on the isle of Umbra in western LN - the island with the Pharos lighthouse on it) by trading him an elixier (sun) and a hi-elixier (moon).

I'd love to have a lantern... Or a torch! Would be super cool to have a little source of light for my character during those dark nights (Which seems to occur 90% of the time I actually want to do something in the overworld... Unless it needs it to be night :rolleyes:)
In a similar vein... I also thought it would be neat to be able to set up campfires (Like we do in the MSQ during HW when we keep trekking to Hraesvelgr for him to tell us to sod off).
Build a little makeshift camp by making a fire and taking shelter in the dark :3 -

I love a lantern though it's not really dark enough in game for one but still would be nice. It could be a cool mechanic for a dungeon, raid or zone where it's so dark a lantern is needed to properly navigate. Maybe a special oil mechanic to expose hiddens paths and mobs.
