STOP GIVING US SEASONAL FOOD ITEMS, PLEASE

Please just stop!

I mean, at least we’re getting an outfit, too. Not just food items and food items only.

Personally, I don’t really care about the food items. If I don’t want them, I just don’t buy them.

I don't mind the seasonal food but I just wish they would stack.... these things fill up my inventory lol. I know I could just buy less but... but... I can't help buying a few just in case >.<;.

What exactly is wrong with seasonal food items?

I think they make nice decorations in the house.

But, still, we're getting an outfit this time too, so there's that :)

I think that they should just be made into regular tabletop furnishing instead of consumables. I usually buy what's available during a holiday but I never put it out in case someone decides to eat it.

I'd rather some proper decorations for events. I decorate the fc house for every event and food isn't exactly the best way of making things festive. Food is small and needs to be placed on some sort of table for it to look any way decent. I'd far prefer actual furniture like wall hangings, ornaments, decorative chairs, mats, etc.

Yes I know we got a stack of eggs but...I don't think that compares with getting something like Easter themed carpets, for example.

Honestly I think all of the housing items should just be decorative, and the ones that actually are usalbe and buff you separate entirely. But especially holiday ones you can only get during an event or mog station a year later.

I'm fine with seasonal food items.

What I do want is for them to be decorative only, not consumable.

Perhaps every weekly reset the food items reset as well, and when consumed to 0 charges they just rest empty plate waiting to be reset? I imagine they get some repeat buyers because of the consumable nature... so I doubt they'd do it... :(.. but that could be neat - I think.

(Agree/would like to see them be able to be decorative past their use - which is why I thought perhaps the above might work out because then people wouldn't be terrified to eat from them/interact either lol).

Edit: May need some way to prevent them from being reset, as Dustytome reminds me that some people use the empty plates. Or... Perhaps SE just adds a bunch of dishes, utensils, place mats, and combo options as decoration :D (when they make seasonal platters it can be a way to create two new items each time, maybe they can be nice and add the side items into the game standard rather than dishes being a cash shop thing).

Might be better to just make the interaction alternate between eaten/not eaten. Some people use the empty version of various dishes in combination with other items. If the food were to come back each week that would cause an issue with such use.

Like you can eat from it forever (bouncing between empty and full) or that you can visually choose between full and not?

I personally wouldn't mind if you could eat from them forever and you can choose to empty them (as the house decorator), but I just went around that out of a vague concern that people might just put down a nice feast at the house and then ignore cooking items for the most part therein. But beyond that vague, and perhaps unimportant concern, always on / off seems cool to me.

I wanted to say exactly that and saw someone did already. :D But yeah I had the same idea a while ago, because it bothers me as well, that they're consumable... WHO uses those for bufffood reasons anyway... :S
And I hate the placemats as well. The food looks nice, the details are every time really cute, but those colors just kill me. ^^'

Or they create a decorative version of the empty dishes. The models already exist, we see them when we eat up all the charges. Why not have them as a separate item in the first place?

We can make a grocery store or a bakery with all the stuff. :D

This is the 6th or 7th event in a row where we get food items or table decorations. We haven't gotten any cool furniture that we can use all year round either (minus snowman butts but that was a happy coincidence)

Oh hell no! I incorporate empty plates into my designs like the Valentinones cake plates as the LPs on a DJ table or the birthday cake plates as stepping stones in my zen rock garden. I absolutely do not want to have to re-eat all of these every single week to keep my stylish designs

Yeah I have put candles on the empty turkey platter occasionally rather than on a furniture item to drip wax everywhere which I would never do at home hehe.

Hm if you eat them up, the item changes and looks different, that provides a new item to be used.
I don't really mind event food items, but can we please have old event items back at some point? I really really need those snowman lamps to use them as modern spot lights, but no way im gonna pay 3,50€ for for fricking lamp.

You don't need to buy the food items if you don't want them, it is as simple as that, besides foods and the likes is a nice seasonal thing you can add to your house/FC house.

if they're not consumable then it means that we can't eat them to get the empty variant, so that's a bit of a downgrade as a decoration

What if the dishware was their own object (if one wanted a perma-dishware item) and the plates refilled automatically each week?
