I can't think of a time when I missed a melee auto-attack and/or WS while in an 8-player group. (Heck, I can't even think of any other FF game that I've played where I never missed in a group setting, or at least had a 99.999999999 ..... 9999999% accuracy rating). Bonuses in general are okay, especially if you have to work for them, but for a while now it's felt like the accuracy bonus in large parties is a bit OP (of course, there's really no "work" required to obtain it, besides "/pcmd add [name]" x7... *whew* that was hard...). Anyway, I digress...
I'm wondering what Matsui's views (or even Yoshi's too I suppose) are on the accuracy bonus given to 8-player parties, and if he thinks that it should take an act of The Twelve (RP for ya - see what I did thar?!) to miss an auto-attack and/or WS. I mean, heck, mages still get resisted regardless of what size party they're in, so why are melee not subjected to the occasional *WIFF*?
Perhaps it's not so much the party buff, but maybe the mobs' themselves need to be altered (e.g., more evasion, etc.). Although when I think about playing solo I remember that I miss every now and then (which, to me, feels okay/reasonable), and so simply increasing mobs' evasion (or some other stat/attr/whatever) would make me miss even more if I weren't in a party receiving the accuracy buff. Hmmm, maybe, then, just "dumb down" the accuracy buff during 8-man "instanced" content? Or, buff up the mobs' evasion (or w/e) during "instanced" content? Heck, I don't know... o.O
So yeah, it would be nice to know what Matsui's and/or Yoshi's views/thoughts/ideas/whatever are on physical accuracy - especially for end-game-ish type content. Rukkirii? Bayohne? Can you hook an Elezen up, and run this by one of them? Thaaaaaanks~

Sorry, that might have been a bit bitchy but I do remember missing far too often for my likes when solo and being so disappointed that Hawk Eyes don't last like a whole minute :( Oh well -

Well since "Battle Skill" doesnt exist in FFXIV as it did in XI, it might be harder to implement in the sense of battle mechanics code. Though the base accuracy on weapons might be a factor as well to make up for the absense of the "skill". As far as I remember, no weapon in XI had a base "accuracy" stat (added stats don't count), though some did miss more than others (Dark Knights I'm lookin' at you....)

Well frankly missing makes no sense to me anyway especially when the mob is so damn big that there is no possible way we should ever miss unless hit with blind.
Nothing worse than missing a ws that cost 3k tp talk about a big let down lol. -

I am also curious as to the direction Dev Team has gone with accuracy in a party. In 1.21 it has increased significantly.
Accuracy materia and equipment is essentially useless with an innate +20% accuracy bonus in a full party. A guaranteed hit rate also renders Lancer's Feint combo useless.
Is it possible that Dev Team will reconsider the tremendous accuracy bonus for party play? A smaller bonus would be good, I think. Maybe 2-4% but certainly not something that absolutely guarantees a hit. ._. -

I agree. I did see the dragoon miss a few hits of his chaos thrust in that Cutter's Cry video so I hope we'll see a drop in accuracy.

I would have to say melee hit alot more because there moves come from TP generated from successful hits, as with mages they get MP to cast moves.
MP regens on potions, moves/effects, songs, and standing still and/or out of combat (as well as lil bit over time with thm - MP REGEN)
TP can be accumulated with successful hits, as well as invigorate, and now with a song as well. And diminishes when out of combat.
So missing melee hits would reduce the amount of TP gained, thus reducing overall damage, and desirability.
That being said I do however understand where you are coming from, Mages tend to resist, and/or miss more often then they should imo. -

Acc affects if a skills debuffs lands so acc pluss stuff might not be significant to land a hit but it helps you land de debuff of tha ws.. Ir bloodletters debuff or shadowbind bind

Unless mob evasion has been significant increased, we were already at max accuracy and they just increased the overkill. We shall see. My personal opinion is that they don't need to change how EVA and ACC work at all; they need to lower the max accuracy rating so that no one can EVER reach above, say, 90% or 95%.
And, if I'm not mistaken, the skill debuff would be part of m.acc? ^^; -
