What All Healers Need ->

1. make the healers more engaging and fun to play for those who enjoy the healing jobs. new exciting flashy skills. better animations. make healer feel engaged in their roll. i hate to say it but cleric stance is boring as hell. what it does great but still when press the button its not engaging at all

2. make the damage opinions for all healers not be so competitive and down right boring. all healers seem have this issue boring repeating 1-3 dps rotation followed with 1 button repeatable spam. this is extremely boring after while. yes dps on healers needs be address

3. Healer mobility is none-existent. only thing saves thing sprint . find myself using sprint a-lot not having an escape opinions. other then placing shields on yourself not getting hit.having sometime of escaping tool that all healers can have would be nice

4. each healer needs solid identity - alot of current heals all healers have are very similar - wouldn't these abilities serve better as roll skills. all healers have a form raise. not mention that ways the the healers heal needs be changed. that each healer has it own way of healing.

if you make too many spells that are the same. how are healers differ from each other. as far a healing is concerned. that core aspect of these jobs healing

5. all healers need some sort of raid utility. they can offer in raid situation. this is extremely important when creating new healer job. cause if others utility stronger then other then no one want them in their teams. or make a healer job so bloated with utility that no one wants other in their team. or over burden with unnecessary uncreative healing skills and combat systems. doesn't tilt the balance scale cause the amount you heal means nothing to the player base. specially when most of heals result in overhealing <thats not balance>

New Battle System - Large angry clusterfk of salty healer players.... look forward too it... i mean only took you 2 expansions to notice.

6. your place skills at wrong levels Astras should be able to sue cards at lvl8 white mage regen at lvl8. reason is astra without cards is boring as hell. conjurer/white mage extremely boring both in dps and healing aspect until 35 where things start get interesting and it isn't teaching new players how engage in their roll until much higher level. watch i hate say is a problem cause like ever do leveling roulate find yourself 15-30 dungeon below . find yourself bit annoyed by the fact that really don't have much do with yourself. its not very engaging

7. yoshi p and his dev team cares not for the state of healers. mostly because hes black mage main </3 dont look forward to the healer changes . healers need better devs. if your idea of a white mage is -> stone IV overhealing broken lily system no one likes. then time hire help in this departiment

8. am a white mage main i been white mage main ever sense this game started . weathered the storm. when my friends told me play other healers cause whm is bad. i never stopped playing it. i was determined to prove everyone wrong. never give up hope. that one day white mage mains would have their time in the sun. however after last expansion. that hope has grown dim. instead im angry am bitter that this imbalance has continued for so long. i feel that if something drastic doesn't happen soon. white mage forever be bottom tier healer. watch i dont want to see. want i want what all white mages want is fairness we dont want be overpowered or broken. but dont want be cast out savage groups cause other two healers are better in design and balance. specially when you giving so much to your main. so much time and effort to this game. when i hear they gonna make white mage easier. ive this saddness this rage in my heart. what am hearing is your unjustifiably nerf us again. and this cycle of other healers will be better and white mage is needed continues. need open up your eyes. see what community is telling you

I agree about identity, but not about needing new ways of healing.

Healing itself is very straightforward. HP goes down, you bring it back up. There are a few variations on that, regens to bring HP back up slowly over time, shields to make HP go down less in the first place, small cheap heal vs big expensive heal, etc, but in the end healing is still healing. There isn't really anything new to add. The identity should come somewhat from the healing (shields vs regens works well for that) but more from the other gimmicks. SCH have fairies and ASTs have cards. Rework lilies into some sort of party buff mechanic and that'll solve most of the identity issues in one go.

6. Agreed with ast not so with whm, Ast definetly needed draw earlier as before that it is literally whm with a globe. With whm however i think it needed assize/Thin air sooner (not before tanks get tank stance so at earliest lv 30/60 for thin air) to help with mp issues a bit better but what do you replace at respective levels and i can't answer

7. Baloney none of the jobs would've received any buff/nerf in their lifetime it the devs didn't care they just seem to have a biased towards certain ones tanks will attest to that as well. The devs that work on both the tanks and healers need to work together and actively see how they interact with each other in fights the devs handling these jobs need to get a better understanding of how they are played currently and work to rectify any current mistakes in these jobs design.

Nws ik it sucks to not have a new job in the expansion and be told the exact same excuse for why as for SB, honestly was looking forward to dnc healer as had so many ideas for glams how it could work etc but they made their decision and i'll have to accept it, now come May and we start to see these healer changes will depend if i start voicing more concerns or not until then we are in the dark. (I hope no more lillies as they are for whm it was so unnecessary)

I'm just going to point out though, that there are only 2 physical ranged jobs, so it makes total sense to make one of those, there are 3 healers after all.

As for the rest of stuff, I have no idea where you are getting your info on how they will make healers easier and so on, all they have said is that WHM is one of the jobs that will get a rework in 5.0, like machinist, but not because they are too hard or anything, more like because they are clunky, have bad gauges and other things like that.

Also, all these threads, makes me feel like we play an entirely different game...

Yoshida did say that whm would be much easier to play, but he provided no context, and he was hesitant to speak on it in the first place. We'll just have to wait until May.

a spell that heal most injured party members (besides your target) when you overheal someone.

This might be an okay spell for one specific job, on a medium cooldown. It's not something that every healer needs, or should have. Managing your overheals is a healer fundamental skill.

If the role numbers mattered to the SE team they would've brought out a range DPS instead of Samurai in SB. Then it would've been 3 of every role (Or sub role since dps like to think their sub roles are as equal as entire other roles) Nor is it balanced now. with 4 tanks 4 melee 3 ranged 4 casters 3 healers. It's a poor excuse and track record shows that isn't how SE decides their new jobs.

Bring back old CS, with this new one there is no risk involved on dps. It kill the pressure on enter in the CS and have to wait the 5 sec to get out again.

Not sure adding to the dps of healers is the right way to go. I’d much rather they make healers healers again. Where healing is what happens most of the time not dps and the occasional ogcd.

"Make healers heal again". Dpsing healers as always been the way this game has worked though? The game is not designed to be healing all the time, the only thing thats changed is we have less reason to use gcd healing.

I said it on another thread, but Proto-Ozma is really a good fight if you want to heal and I think SE should do something similar for futur fights.
Maybe adding more adds in the fights so tanks would have to play more with the aggro (instead of just doing the tank swap in every fight) which would force them both to take damages (and not always as Shinryu or Chadarnook).

In the beginning you could throw some dps skills here and there, but nothing like it is today. You were healing. As ARR progressed the gear got higher and higher and dps became more of the norm. Older content will always require less healing but they could require way more healing than they do in the current dungeons.

One of the problems to do something like this is the skill gap between the players. I’m not saying that we need to track the dps skill or tank skill but we cannot lie that this don’t interfere on how we heal. You can use jump potion and still learn the class if you want, so this is not the problem.

The biggest problem is the unsync, you can basically brute force every content till almost 70. Meaning that you can have no idea of how to play the game and can do end game content.

How many time on 24 man, normal raid or dungeons that require a stack mechanic for an example that every level 70 should know, someone start to run away because have no idea of what to do. They can be on the healer role to, so is not simple at all.

They could improve the novice hall adding like some fights that show more mechanics or make that you can’t do unsync the first time that you do the content. Maybe adding a min ilvl on dng above 50 because sometimes that you tank have less hp than you because his using a way to low item lv.

Before they make us actually heal more, they must fix some issues because with the increase content it will just become bigger.

Just food for thought on the side - anyone considered that Yoshida's plan to "make WHM easier" is purposefully vague? I mean, making it easier could just mean reworking some GCD spells to be 1.5s or instant cast to give WHM more weaving options besides Regen and Aero II, which if I recall was a big issue for WHM players?

Maybe a tad optimistic, but that is how I see it.
