i'm hoping it's just pre-patch lull and the story update in 4.56 will bring some people back for a bit. lots more people that have been grinding have been getting mounts and leaving so there's less people queuing lately i think.

This is deeply unfortunate.
I'm about 25 wins away from the mount, and can confirm that, even during Fanfest weekend, I could never get a single match going on Aether.
Also hoping Tuesday's patch will bring back enough people to actually play the mode, but right now it looks like I'll never get that mount.
It does still pop on Aether during primetime, but getting the first match to queue up can take anywhere from 5 mins to an hour (or more on certain days). Once you get that first game, the rest usually take between 5 and 10 mins to pop if you keep queuing. Definitely not like it was when it first came out though. I'm still hoping they give Rival Wings a roulette like they did Frontlines, now that it has two maps. That might get more people in there.
unlikely to see a roulette just yet for RW. maybe when/if they do a third map for it. I'm also hoping that it was a combo of spring break and pre-patch lull that caused the queue to dry up. except for Sat evening, there was matches Sat evening on Primal. hopefully when ppl come to finish the story they'll queue for RW for a bit more.
It's own Roulette would be bad I think. Just lump it in with the Frontlines rotation. I know it's not technically Frontlines, but both modes are "large scale PvP", so both should share the Roulette/rotation IMHO. I don't see any reason why the Daily Challenge: Frontlines, couldn't just be reworked to Daily Challenge: PvP. Could even slap unranked Feast in there in some form (some certainly want 8v8 back).
I actually think Hidden Gorge was a significant improvement over Astrologos. Shame to see it effectively be completely wasted development time, because if you guys think it's hard to get pops now, imagine it after your data center split...

100 wins isn't very much and Hydatos on same day wasnt much of a chance

I dont find it boring at all, But it gets frustrating when your on a team that contains healers with poor situational awareness. I like Rival wings more than the other modes. But once I manage to get 47 more wins im done with it. Its fun but also frustrating at the same time.
I have one character on Light data center and one Chaos side. Can not play Riwal Wings either side. Even during primetime or weekend queue is dead.
My only hope at this point is that they merge Chaos and Light after half the overall playerbase drops a few months into 5.0, not like this game has ever done a good job of retaining players, and the only time we've had serious overpopulation problems is the first couple weeks of expansion...
I'm going to be laughing all the way to the unsubscribe button if Raubahn (Savage) happens despite this split... Imagine screwing over vast numbers of your playerbase for no reason whatsoever...
This is a major problem in this game. It's not so much that we don't have a big PVP community, it's obvious we don't, but that the few PVPers we have can't play each other.
I REALLY wish SE would acknowledge this fact and explain to us WHY they can't have cross DC queues for PvP, or maybe they're actually working on it? Who knows? The communication is just so bare bones, especially when you look at companies like Riot and Blizzard with Overwatch.
Cross DC is a bad idea with the current frontline issues. 72s need to be abolished tbh and only allow FL 24s.
If they do that then sure Ill agree with cross DC queing.
Unless they plan on allowing you to set FL for 24 man matches only instead of pointless bot and noob infested 72 man matches, cross DC queing never needs to happen. FL is more popular.
I think “Win” Conditions should be removed and make it awarded in participation count, a “win” condition will take long time to achieve

most of the pvp rewards are already participation rewards though. that's the biggest problem with pvp, there's no competitive drive in this community. everyone wants hand outs without having to put in effort, this makes matches terrible with the low skill of most players which pushes away good pvp players and makes the problem even worse.
I somehow doubt, when the problem is partly "People got their mount reward and stopped queuing", that the solution is to make it even easier to obtain... If anything they should make it harder to obtain, this goes beyond just PvP, but I do wish this game has a more robust achievements system... There are lots of achievements, or even just challenge log entries, that one could come up with to both give more longevity to content, and to perhaps encourage better play. Although, come to think of it, some of those perhaps aren't "win condition" achievements (an achievement for Oppressor kills, for example), but they certainly shouldn't remove win conditions entirely, that completely goes against the point of PvP.
Really, something like the Rival Wings mounts should have been put behind something like the Gold Saucer "High Roller" achievement; An achievement unlocked after completing a set of achievements. A 200 wins achievement would just be part of that, aside from that you could have scoring kills normally, as mech, killing mechs, objectives, etc., an achievement for actually showing up mid to get the train? Like I said, plenty of achievements one can come up with for something like Rival Wings, some even encourage people to actually do objectives.
I think they should make 12v12 option for rival wings. Frontlines have that option, even if there is not enough players for 72 man, 24 man can still pop. They should make same kind of system for Riwal Wings, because otherwise ppl not even try que into it because odds for 24man frontline are better. I have seen even 72 man frontline still pop after split during primetime, but only reason for that is because 24man option is there, I believe.
RW is popular in JP, but FL in NA/EU. They really need to stick with 1 large-scale mode. The make-everyone-happy goal isn't going to happen because no one can be carried in pvp. I'm pretty sure most folks don't want that constant nagging feel (even for 8v8v8), pvpers or not. It really takes time to get the feel for strategy (the "Oh this one works better in this situation") and there are tons. Only few people will bother with a once off or "limited" rewards, it needs to be continuous for masses.
Personally HG is the better mode gameplay wise. I really want it to be more popular for NA/EU, but it's hard with people choosing FL.
